Looking for replacement of gypsum ceiling
Hi, we're looking for a ceiling replacement. Can anyone suggest a local firm to do this, with experience of having used their services. Also, I notice a separate thread on ceiling insulation. I have just removed all of ours and so it's available if anybody is looking for some. It's the silver covere...

Re: Sort out visa problem while in ASQ
But Gregjam didn't arrive with a current valid visa. He arrived on an extension of stay. For instance, the Non O visa I first extended off expired almost 15 years ago. Thanks, that explains it very well, I understand the OP's situation now. I hadn't been aware that those Non-Immigrant visas were no...

Re: Sort out visa problem while in ASQ
Thanks for replying and explaining this @Gregjam it's new to me. From what you describe, I assume the basis of this is that if you have an extension of stay, then leave Thailand but return before the expiry of that extension of stay, you are only given the remaining days up to that past extension? I...

Re: Sort out visa problem while in ASQ
Though this thread is a year old, I’m curious, as well as disturbed, about the misfortune the OP @gregjam suffered on return to Thailand and the stay in mandatory quarantine, the duration over which the OP had no control. The OP arrived on 4-Feb-2021 though the passport was stamped only until 10-Feb...

Re: Garden paving bricks
If you go north on Phetkasem towards Cha Am there is a shop that sells many types of brick, and stone, at one of the new lights at the army base. I don't know if they have that type but they have a variety. Going north there are 2 new lights for the army base, I believe it's the second light where ...

Garden paving bricks
Can anyone advise where to obtain bricks 10cm x 20cm similar to the attached, for simple garden paving/ornate use please? I'm aware there's a company in Hua Hin called Garden Design but they are charging an astronomical 25 baht each rather than the typical 8 baht. We've found a trader in Phetchburi ...

Re: Car tax renewal, how many months in advance?
It’s annoying that you have to pay a fee for late payment, but as it’s only a relatively small amount, it’s not worth getting too excited about - it’s one of the joys for living here!! There's a phrase I heard once, "It's not the principle, it's the money"! To be honest I don't know the b...

Re: Car tax renewal, how many months in advance?
Sorry Brightside, I can't. I no longer have that car. You could be right about the 'late fee'. I may not have noticed it. That's alright HHTel, thanks for the note back anyway. It's been a worthwhile conversation to clarify it a bit and may help others in the future. I also didn't immediately notic...

Re: Car tax renewal, how many months in advance?
I've just been reminded that some years ago, I was in a similar situation. Whilst I was away and my car parked up on the drive, the tax ran out. When I returned, I just renewed my tax which was backdated to the date it was due for renewal. No penalty. Thanks to all for the help with this. I have be...

Re: Car tax renewal, how many months in advance?
Also applies to compulsory 3rd party insurance I think. Thanks, I take it that means the por-ror-bor (compulsory) insurance can be purchased 90 days before it is needed to commence? In other words, one could purchase it on approximately 1-Oct-2020, to commence 1-Jan-2021? I must admit I've often fo...

Car tax renewal, how many months in advance?
How long before the tax renewal date can motor vehicle tax be paid in advance?
Car's tax expires 3-Jan-2021. Can I pay the tax now? If not, what is the earliest I can pay it? Sorry if this is a common answer but I can't seem to find any information.
Thanks

Registration for TM30 as home owner, but without a blue book
Apologies to all for yet another TM30 question, but I haven't been able to find an answer, despite searching this and other forums. I am looking for advice on the best way to register TM30, given my circumstances. I am the owner and I hold title to the building (I have the official stamped sale cont...
