Re: House or Condo rental prices long term HH?

Not to be a snob but i think you'd likely struggle to comfortably live in a 3500b p/m property in Hua hin. I'd say you'd have to do some good hunting to find a semi decent 2 bed house for the 10k mark and it's worth paying a little more for a communal pool and gated entrance. I think you are right,...

House or Condo rental prices long term HH?

Ideally with a pool. How cheap at the cheaper end, we would be on a budget initially. Searching online 17k bht pcm seems the minimum for a studio condo with pool. Someone on one of my previous post mentioned a huge oversupply of condos, and so is it possible to strike a deal in person for significan...

NOKYAI wrote: Fri Feb 09, 2018 11:39 pm You have to remember that Hua Hin is the Brighton of Thailand with prices to match. If you were to go “up north” to Isaan then you would find cheaper places to live, eat and drink.

That's a good one, I get that. We had Blackpool from Oldham!

What is this BKP?

Sorry if not clear, I was asking about bar prices, (see subject title.)

Typical price of a large beer in HH bars?

After a few visits now to Thailand, I am a bit dismayed at the expense of a cold beer. Ok, one can get soup noodles for 50bht on a small Soi, but a bar beer can be 120bht in Bkk. As a comparison, my local in Manchester, ok, a Sam Smiths bog standard boozer with no Sky Sports, beer farts smell, and n...

Re: Hello all. Newbie in Manchester.

You also mentioned being in mid-40s and not married. You will have a living nightmare trying to get a visa extended in Hua Hin (even if you are married). Sorry if it is all negative but take it from the people that have 'been there and done it'. What do you lot do for visas? My gf seems to think a ...

Re: Hello all. Newbie in Manchester.

I must be older than I thought. Never heard of scrub rounds, so had to google it, and I'm still not entirely sure! Do you mean ways to get round the rules? Welcome to the forum, by the way! Back in the navy we used it to 'not do' or 'ignore'. Scrub round doing this. or Scrub round doing that. "...

NHS treatment back in the UK if resident in HH?

Hello all, apologies if i am asking all the usual newbie questions. In my original post about buying land out here, someone mentioned about forfeiting the right to NHS treatments on leaving the UK. This was a good point, and I have researched it, and one of the determinants for free care seems to be...

Re: Possible land purchase 2.5km outside HH centre. Planning to build houses. Advice please.

Thanks for all the detailed replies fellas. It's a hell of a descision to make and Saranya is not helping at all, in the same way when I chose my new specs with her - she had no favourite pair - she knows if I chose due to her, and then regret it, it's ALL her fault! I have looked into buying a £60k...

Re: Possible land purchase 2.5km outside HH centre. Planning to build houses. Advice please.

Very interesting idea. Thanks Jose, that's the sort of thinking I need. The £27k has all but gone on expenses, bills, car loses over 18 months, about £8k left, so it is focusing the mind somewhat! (After the first 12 months trading and £74k turnover, my net profit was almost exactly £0.) Another opt...

Thanks for the honest replies guys. People in England to my face have been more 50:50, do:don't. So to add a bit more detail if I may? I'm not normally one to bang on about myself... Sadly I got diagnosed with MS a couple of years ago, and the psychological stress of the diagnosis in short meant I c...

Possible land purchase 2.5km outside HH centre. Planning to build houses. Advice please.

Hello all, Newbie here. So in brief I met Saranya my Thai gf 3 years ago whilst traveling at Sala Deang BTS in Bkk. We are both in out mid -forties, she is widowed with grown up kids. I live in Manchester, single, no kids and am thinking of selling my house, taking the equity and using it to (with S...
