It's pretty quiet all over Asia now. Hua Hin is no exception. The SARS outbreak is nothing to worry about here though. The UK have only had one case less than Thailand (6 there , 7 here).

The Hilton is the same as Hua Hin Brewing Company, yes. Its likely to be pretty wet by August (middle of the rainy season), although it didnt rain much last year.

Along Petchkasem road in town at night there are a bunch or stalls that open up and sell football shirts, F1 shirts and other clothing. Not quite the selection you'll get in Pattaya but you can buy stuff like that in HH.

welcome to the board! most guesthouses in HH are 'guest friendly', the Euro isnt bad ... rooms about 600 baht. Also theres the Fulay which has rooms over the sea from 300 up.

The U-turn bar has now moved to what once was the Tulip Bar down Soi Bintabaht. Lots more space, 2 pool tables and more girls

The annual market down Neabkehard Road is now on until the 6th May. You can take a stroll and shop for the usual market fare, clothing, kitchen ware, mobile accessories, food etc. There are also rides for the kids at the far end.

I think the drop in tourism will be a short term thing (maybe just one lower than usual low season). It should be back to normal come October / November. I remember it being the same after september 11th and recovering okay for high season.
