Re: Locations that serve a "good" American / English breakfast.

Just tried a new breakfast at IQ cafe (soi 94, next door to Golden Break). They had both British and American breakfasts. I tried the British one. It tasted fine but the style was very American. It was served with both bacon and ham and the bacon was American (i.e. very thin). It was also served wit...

Re: Why Do Expats Remain - Why Do They Come Back?

I think that the main thing I like about Thailand is the freedom from the government and local councils. I lived most of my life in Holland when there are rules for everything. Both the government and local civil servants have massive power and they wield it continually. There is almost no free park...

Re: Your top 3 best ever live performances

Not a concert but a musical play. I went to see the Musical "Buddy" in the Westend {can't remember which theater) many years ago. The last 30-45 minutes Gary Busey went through the complete Buddy Holly song list. The theater was full and during that last phase everybody was standing in the...

Re: Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab has hotels from 1 to 5 star, Nothing is far from the beech. What are you looking for as far as hotel facilities are concerned? How much do you want to pay? Do you want solitude or a place where things are happening?

Re: Gourmet Market, soon Big C Hua Hin Marché @ BluPort

I've eaten at the new big C three times now, all good meals and well priced. I had a small problem today. I ordered fish & chips. There are 2 choices of fish, sea bass and black cod. I chose the black cod. It was good except the middle was a little raw, which was a pity. I did see today that the...

Re: Locations that serve a "good" American / English breakfast.

Tried the bangers & mash there today. 3 beef sausages, gravy, peas and mashed potato. Made from powder but not bad, plenty of butter. It was only about 150 Baht so a good price. Only problem that the kitchen took about 45 minutes to prepare it. My wife had mussels in cream sauce with french frie...

KFC sell pretty good egg custard tarts, along with perfect coleslaw and mash potatoes with a nice gravy.

What I have found there are small tins of Morrison's Baked Beans. A much better size for me and good beans.

Re: Locations that serve a "good" American / English breakfast.

Can anyone provide an up-to-date list of restaurants in Hua Hin that serve fried bread with an English breakfast. I used to know quite a few but they have all recently closed down.

Re: Jersey Milk

We used to have competitions in school to see who could drink the most milk. Later this changed to who could eat the most custard as we were allowed unlimited replenishment of jugs.

Jersey Milk

I have been a milk lover my whole life. When I was young the milk was delivered to our front door step around 05:00 every morning. That always included one bottle of Jersey Milk. The cream on the top of the milk was always delicious especially if there had been fresh snow during the night and the mi...

Re: Skype to be discontinued, alternatives?

I also use Skype to call long distance when recipient is not connected to internet (an old fashioned phone). The reason for using Skype is that it is much cheaper than calling directly from my phone. As far as I can see Microsoft Teams does not offer this functionality!
