Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

^ I've watched and enjoyed both series of the "Tulsa King" - suits Stallone very well IMHO. "SAS Rogue Heroes" and "Landman" are both superb - truly looking forward to more from both, though apparently we're in for a wait. The 2nd Season of "Silo" was also ve...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

Carry On, a very good film released last year. Action and suspense.

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

I changed my mind and watched Tulsa King after recommendations from my son and a close friend. I don't always follow their tastes but I'm open to things. I actually binged the first series yesterday. Despite having a low opinion of Stallone I enjoyed it. TK doesn't make him a total action man or sup...

Re: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Movies at Hua Hin Cinema

BB you obviously use the cinema in Hua Hin, I'd ask a couple of questions. Do you go to midweek matinees (as I used to in Dubai) to avoid gabbling crowds and phone screen light all around while everyone is doomscrolling ? Also are there any screens with higher-end experiences like reclining seats (I...

Re: Can the AI tech for Tiger's new golf league change golf?

Golfzon has always looked good and thanks for the video which is fascinating, I'd like to try it just once, but in Thailand it's not even needed of course! Asians 'preferring' to play indoor golf; maybe it's something to do with the horrendous cost of club membership, leaving most to just hit balls ...

Re: Can the AI tech for Tiger's new golf league change golf?

Thank you, fascinating reading. Here is link past the PW - https://archive.ph/LMvTZ Comments are generally what I would have expected for the Torygraph. It would be interesting to see a review in the Grauniad for comparison. Torygraph, Grauniad (I use Garudian and laugh when people think Ive misspe...

Re: Can the AI tech for Tiger's new golf league change golf?

There's a long article in today's Daily Telegraph about this (paywalled I'm afraid). https://www.telegraph.co.uk/golf/2025/01/07/tgl-rory-mcilroy-tiger-woods-simulator/ "Purists will hate it but Rory and Tiger’s $50m simulator plan might save golf New tournament ‘reimagines’ the sport banking o...

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort

I'll try Bluport again given the comments about competitiveness, as I do use Villa Market for a few (to me) essentials that aren't currently on the shelves at Lotus or Bic C, and bite the bullet on the cost. I'm always been a bit surprised why Robinsons aren't in Hua Hin, they're present across Thai...

Re: Astronomy, cosmology and space thread

PH it's kind of you to invest time in educating Robinhood and myself about getting into astronomy, thanks. Now I've looked into it a bit more I see that a budget smart scope like Seestar S50 is around $700 on websites (so, certainly more in Thailand), and a midrange (usually my preference) a lot, lo...

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort

I’ve only been to GM once or twice and can’t remember what I bought (it wouldn’t have been much), but it’s clearly the biggest outlet for western and high quality food in Hua Hin (at least it was when I visited a few years ago). The only drawback is that all of the nice things are so damn expensive...

I would have thought Big C a bit downmarket for Bluport, not that I use Gourmet Market myself, maybe enough others don't also.

Re: World Darts & Luke "THE NUKE" Littler

Thousands of parents spend every weekend getting up early to take their child to their football match, whether it be rain, wind or even -2 with a frost on the ground. All in the hope that their child may be good enough to one day be scouted to play for a team in the league, be it lower league or din...

Re: Can the AI tech for Tiger's new golf league change golf?

Really fascinating. I could say a lot about this but it looks amazing, that's for sure. A couple of things come to mind quickly: It won't make the game more accessible to play as the YouTube poster says because the cost of play would be too high for any but the real hi-sos in Thailand. Playing from ...
