Re: Thailand tourism situation
In the “good old days” this was low season with weather that changed in a matter of minutes, floods, and winds that blew away roofs and it still is low season. Back then there were few, if any, tourists. The locals said you shouldn’t swim in any sea along the beaches of Thailand. Today the TAT and e...

Re: Thailand's foreigner crackdown: stricter screening, monthly reports, working raids
If the authorities could be a little clearer, they should clarify the use of the term "foreign expat" because of the 4400 mentioned above it is most likely that 4399 are from one of the neighboring countries. Maybe also in the same vein do an investigation of the visa system here and make ...

Re: What is going rate for Health Insurance?
Make sure you sign up before you are 60. I myself are with Pacific cross and it jumped up considerable in price when 60. Thankfully never have needed to make a claim but have friends who have made claims both after medical treatment in Thailand and abroad and never have had issues getting the cost c...

Re: Cambodia to take up long-running border dispute with Thailand at UN's top court
We need one more (war) Its already written and as it seems sometimes, we are there already “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy.” – 2 Timothy 3:1...

Re: Snubbed middle-income retirees look beyond Thailand to SE Asia
I think you are exaggerating Thailand's popularity among Tom, Dick and Harry a bit now. I myself have family in Europe and the US, some wealthy, others middle class, well-educated and well-travelled and after almost three decades here for me they still don't understand what is so "superb" ...

Re: Snubbed middle-income retirees look beyond Thailand to SE Asia
IMO, it is unrealistic to set up requirements for a retirement visa in a country where the local estimated average income is 21,000 US dollars and even that amount, I think is a bit exaggerated from what I can see around me  – https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/real-gdp-per-capita/ H...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
Checked with Bangkok Hua Hin hospital but not in stock was answer. I have not checked San Paulo or Hua Hin Hospital but below in Bangkok and Pattaya. The Bumrungrad package is as standard priced far of any sensibility IMO  https://www.thaitravelclinic.com/covid-vaccine-passport-eng.html https...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
The current outbreak was reported to be mild but fast-spreading, not sure if that's still the info. On that basis I'm not interested in a jab, but my real interest is in knowing how many actually had more than the initial two jabs years ago? I held off until I could get two Astrozenicas and then di...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
Is the Covid-19 vaccine that has been in use autumn/winter 2024/25 in many European countries (Comirnaty Omicron JN.1) available in Thailand at this time of year for the elderly, chronically ill and infants? Or is a different type of Covid vaccine being used here?

Re: Shocking attack on elderly Brits in Hua Hin
British retirees escape Thailand prison drama In an astonishing twist of fate, an elderly British couple have narrowly avoided what had seemed an inevitable prison sentence in Thailand. Instead, they’ve been handed 9,000-baht fines (£200), allowing them to plan their much-anticipated return to the ...

Shocking attack on elderly Brits in Hua Hin
Sometimes it's easy to regret even setting a foot in this country where morality and humanity don't even reach the third world level and corruption and greed have been replaced with God
