Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
At root, I suppose the underlying issue is one of energy density. A 500kg Tesla battery contains half the kw/h of energy than a 20 litre jerry can of petrol. Nothing can be done about it.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Please tell us how or why you think they are superior. I've own / owned & driven both, and ICEV are ridiculously inferior. Performance wise and simply by design. EV motor has something like 20 parts to it vs the 2000 parts of an ICE. Along with ICE using a fuel that degrades some of those part....

In the UK I’ll keep my petrol-hybrid for the foreseeable. In Thailand I don’t drive and never have or will. My view is that battery cars are a dead end; those who want one will buy one but ICE remains far superior for most users. Please tell us how or why you think they are superior. I've own / own...

Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
And the range of a BYD battery pick-up towing its maximum permissible load?
110km. That’s around one fifth to a quarter of a diesel equivalent.
Battery power is not the future.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Imagine all cars were battery powered, then along comes a new invention, the 'internal combustion engine'. Think how well they would sell without subsidy or compulsion: A vehicle 30% lighter, 30% cheaper, refuelling in 5% of the time and a range in all weathers four times greater. Plus it does not r...
