I read Donald's story many years ago, and it changed my perceptions of doing business in Hua Hin from then on. Made me much more cautious and aware of what could be it you stick your neck out. A sad and powerful lesson.

I remember 7 years ago, it was 150 baht from the town, up to the railway. That was for my Thai friends, not me. Thought it would be more by now. Haven't taken a Tuk Tuk for 5-6 years now.

Thailand's lack of CCTV cameras was one reason I chose to settle here many years ago. Looks like that's all changing now

Things on the BM side have grown VERY slowly over the last 8 years, compared to the rest of HH. I do wonder when it's all going to kick off on that side. ATM not many people seems to want to live out that way for some reason.

Very erratic download speeds though and patchy service. They replaced a "box" down the road a week ago, they say, and service has been better since :-)
