How is the cellphone coverage in Thailand? Guessing non-existent out at smaller islands and remote areas but decent in more populated areas like Hua Hin?

I have sometimes gotten some kind of seeds when eating spicy food at indian restaurants. Not sure what they are, taste like licorice, but they take the heat away instantly if chewed

I can try to find out, might need them when coming down there...
