I thought it may be of interest to report that some immigration offices are run efficiently and sensibly. BKK immigration office is a total nightmare in comparison.

I went to BuriRam immigration this morning to do my 90 day report and notify my change of address. I had my passport and blue book. In and out in 10 minutes. No T28 or T30 forms required. The sent me my user name and password by email afterwards but it's so easy to go in person I don't think I'd bot...

Hopefully the electricity supply will prove to be reliable. I had a petrol generator in Scotland as a back up not a bad idea for here now that I think about it. A significant problem though is the psychological aspect of being isolated,give it longer than 2 weeks and that becomes a problem for some ...

Thanks for that, I sure some members who have had insurance for some time may have developed other conditions which would be classified as pre existing with a new company.

I wonder if the requirement to use only a Thai company when taking out mandatory health insurance is a breach of WTO rules? Just a thought.

If they would remove they need for out-patient cover it's pretty hard to argue against. Some mechanism needs to be in place for those that can't get cover due to pre existing conditions, perhaps 800k in the bank might suffice.

I think I learned over 50 years ago it is wise to be presentable at an interview. ( and polite) However that makes absolutely no difference at Bangkok immigration.

I went when it first opened,it operated a buy tokens system which meant you buy the tokens at one desk,go to order and collect food then go to the bar to get your drink in other words no table service. Too much hassle really.
