Re: Speed Cameras

Yes, but they are not always enabled. In fact most are enabled no more than a few days each month (there are a couple of die hard camera switched on all of the time). It is part of the game I play as I drive along i.e. spot the camera, and then does my detector pick up a signal? In fact, so few are ...

Re: Khao Tao Lake

At last. they've cleared a lot of building debris, and hopefully somebody can make a guess at what it is. It is split into 3 distinct modules (left, middle and right) with a large open passageway between modules. We already know from Saturday's photo, that the rear (lakeside) of the carbuncle has be...

Re: Speed Cameras

Further to yesterday's post, I had everything switched on today. Definitely no sign of a speed camera where berlinmichael was caught twice. If its still there, please tell us where. Nothing detected as I went through (at 60KPH today :D) the camera in photo 3. However, the cameras in the opposite dir...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

The turn off for me was the pre-1940s way the movie was made. I never gave the story a chance  It was slightly more advanced than Keystone Cops to look at, which was probably quite clever cinematography in 1980. I'm sure there must be something special for 404cameljockey to have had it as his ...

Re: Thai Football 2023/24

Tonight's T1 results - a very useful 3 points for local side Prachuap (crucial relegation battle with Chonburi next week).

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

I'm sorry 404cameljockey, but Sir Henry at Rawlinson End lasted just 4 minutes. Really is nothing personal - we'll have to agree our taste in cinema are a thousand miles apart :D.

Re: Speed Cameras

Further to my post this morning, and my comments regarding berlinmichael's post, I paid extra special attention when going to and from Khao Tao Lake today. First comment, sure enough, this is the 80KPH sign that he talks about. The only reason I can think is the University that soon comes up on the ...

Re: Football (not Premier League)

Thanks Pete, I'd never heard that story before.

Strangely enough, I was on the same plane as the Ratchaburi team last week, and couldn't get thoughts of the Munich disaster out of my mind.

Re: Speed Cameras

Yes, they had a few of those systems in the UK before I left 13 years ago. Of course, the easiest way is to drive to the speed limits, although it isn't always clear what the speed limit is. Going back to berlinmichael's post, I always thought the road from Hua Hin to Khao Tao was 90KPH. I've seen n...

Re: Speed Cameras

I will be making the journey again next weekend. I will enable the radar detector next time, and report back how many are actually active.

Re: Speed Cameras

Even though I don't intentionally drive over the speed limit, I always enable the Radarbot app as advised by sateeb a while back. The app advises whenever you are approaching a speed camera, and when advised, I always look for the camera (breaks the monotony of driving). Yesterday's new notification...

Yes, I hope they do better than Foster, who turned out to be their full-time coach with the shortest time in office, ever.

Re: Speed Cameras

Just a word of warning to those driving south of Hua Hin. There is a fairly recent 80 kph zone on Phetkasem Road south of Rajabhakti Park near the army bases. It's only a 3/4 km stretch but as I have discovered the speed cameras are active. I have received two fine pictures of my car apparently tra...

Re: Football (not Premier League)

Yes, an amazing climax to the season. I was sat in Dragon Solar Park watching progress on my phone. Such a relief at the final whistle.
