Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
I'm fairly confident that my main pension will easily cover most costs of living here - that is taxed by UK and I have the proof. Even if I completed a form, it isn't going to show my State Pension as having been taxed, because it hasn't. My tax code will have been adjusted instead, and I pay extra ...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
It looks as though my taxation code has been adjusted to cater for the amount of tax paid by my regular pension provided. So this does open a very grey area - although I am paying tax on my State Pension by stealth through my tax code, my State Pension is not being taxed directly. Do you complete a...

Re: BBC iPlayer
This is the issue I was having a week ago. Resolved by updating my Windows to the latest version, and switching around the VPN servers that will work - Midlands is best for me. Mine is back to perfect again.

I may have answered the question myself. It looks as though my taxation code has been adjusted to cater for the amount of tax paid by my regular pension provided. Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
I have received my P60 (UK End of Year Tax Paid Certificate) this morning. I'd never noticed before, but this certificate does not mention my Government Pension, which is taxed at source. I'm thinking it may be difficult proving that this additional income from the UK has been subjected to UK tax. D...

I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I remember having had to help 2 friends similarly with my UK credit card.

Re: Things That Wind Me Up Driving In Thailand
A new one, but it has been bothering me for years. Lazy truck drivers, stopping to use service stations. Rather than pull into a service station, which would actually involve steering the vehicle, many just stop on the hard shoulder, and walk into the service station. Because there are very few slip...

Re: Speed Cameras
It doesn't sound off for anything unusual other than automatic doors when I go past a 7-11, which is fine - I'm used to that . I did have a list of the various frequencies it detects, but no idea where that is now. Very few of the new speed cameras brought a reaction, but what I did notice (d...

I'll be off to Ratchaburi soon - I will have everything switched on and will report back tomorrow. Personally, I don't see a problem if we stick to the speed limit, but nice to know because we all lose concentration from time to time.

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Yes, I think that is my understanding. The only grey area for me is if I were to transfer the remaining 30K in year 2, together with year 2's 50K. I am assuming the 30K from year 1 would be taxable in year 2.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Yes, I pulled into the petrol/diesel part of the station a few days ago, and I must say, the new charging station looked very impressive. I was very surprised to see it there.
