Re: Agoda hotel descriptions warning

While agoda and other online agents are useful it is always better to check using other methods. I recently spvisited Chiang Mai and a Thai family member tried to arrange our preferred resort accommodation. Our choice was not available and another was sourced prior to our travelling but had I been c...

Re: Honda PCX or Yamaha Nmax?

Just been watching a YouTube comparison between the Nmax and Aerox. Different bike styles with the Nmax not having the pronounced seat step or fairing that intrudes on your knees. The Aerox is sportier but I would have preferred if the missus had bought the Nmax.

Re: Honda PCX or Yamaha Nmax?

I do not have the Nmax but have the155cc Aerox. If two up the fairing hits my knees and my wife finds the rear seat a bit of a climb. When riding solo I would like to sit farther back but the step in the seat prevents this. I would guess the Nmax is not so different. Noticeably more power but I can ...

Underground repair to toilet drain

We had a plumber in who cleared a waste pipe from the toilet to the tank which plant roots had penetrated. Now it is obvious the pipe is broken underground and will need to be dug up and repaired. Not something the plumber was much help with so now I am looking for someone to do this unpleasant job ...

Re: Name difference problem renewing UK passport

I can now report that the person in question has sorted everything out. Three hours to get the name on the family card pchanged and new ID card issued. This involved shuttling between the MV office and Tessabahn at the crossroads. The next business day a visit to the passport office in Bangkok and a...

Re: Never trust the railway crossing barriers.

If the lights are on either steady or flashing then it would indicate that the power supply is on and hopefully the barrier working. No light could mean a number of things including no power but caution is advisable. Like others I practice caution regardless and hopefully will not become a statistic.

Re: Racing Market

When I read "old go-kart track" my first thought is the one by the airport that I think is still in business. I have given up trying to understand the 'copy what the neighbours' are doing mentality which can only be bad for everyone. With the tourist season about to kick off one wonders which ones w...

Power fluctuation Hin Lek Fai Phutawan area

Looking out of the window I guess I am not alone suffering power fluctuations in the Phutawan Hin Lek Fai area. The wife has turned off the TV etc (not a bad thing) and it is quiet apart from road noise and what I guess is a bar that obviously is not having any issues judging by the music. Does anyo...

Re: The Digital Surgery

While on the subject of the Daily Mail online does anyone know how to stop those annoying videos from starting up automatically (the pop up ones). Not an issue when I am home but when I am at work the ship's connection is very slow and streaming not permitted. I tried changing various settings in Wi...

Re: The Digital Surgery

Looks like it is the provider. I rebooted the router and still no success. I am not using a VPN for this site. Not a major problem as I can access it using my AIS mobile internet. Looks like just one of those things to learn to live with here like using the Daily Mail app because you cannot access t...

Login to UK site worked on mobile but not home internet

I have just been reserving a hire car for an upcoming UK visit (in this case with Enterprise) and was unable to login to the member area using my computer at home which has a good TOT internet connection. I tried to reset my password using their password reset function and it would not send the data...

Would have gone but for the lack of hotel rooms available unless you buy into a package. Would look to go next year but suspect it will be the same issue with getting a room even remotely close to the circuit.

The OP just highlight how ignorant I am about computers. To me it is all gobbledygook.
