Read the story on Facebook from the local reporter guy, it was a 48 year old male tourist from Kazakhstan crossing the road with his wife. As stated, he was struck by a tuk-tuk and unfortunately, did indeed lose his life.
There has been a few accidents there, they will have to do something about it.

Re: Thai Woman Killed by Drunk Thai Driver in HH
I actually seen this story, in Thai language. It was that shop you described. Although the driver of the car was a woman, from Sisaket. The unfortunate victim was a 40 year old male, a local engineer. The victim was riding a bike (apparently heading north on the shop side of the road) which was hit ...

Re: Parsing and Deciphering Thai
I should point out that although I can read and understand quite a bit of Thai, I don't speak Thai or understand spoken Thai at all. When I'm with my wife and I ask her what someone said, she knows not to translate into English but to translate into what we call "Rosetta Stone Thai". She ...

Re: Parsing and Deciphering Thai
One of the problems I have with Thai is that I'll hear or read a sentence and know what all he words mean, but I have no idea what the sentence means as a whole. Here's an example. ไปหามาจากที่ไหนเนี่ยะแบบนี้ Our neighbor said it to my wife when we were on our walk around the moo baan this morning....

Re: Foreigners arrested for alleged drug offences in Hua Hin
I am in England and friends are worried. Any news on court or charges etc....? I know a couple of them, including Jonny, who I'm guessing you're worried about but afraid I've heard nothing more since the original details posted earlier in this thread. By the lack of response, it seems nobody else o...

Re: Foreigners arrested for alleged drug offences in Hua Hin
Noi is already back on the streets. Is he? I'm slightly surprised, there had been talk that he would get off due to some contacts he has but the way it was reported was along the lines of this 'gang' being caught and it sounded like the 3 of them were in big big trouble. I didn't think his contacts...

Re: Dengue fever in Hua Hin?
I also know of a couple of people who have contracted it, 1 Danish guy and a French guy, both in Hua Hin. Sorry if it's been covered earlier in the thread, I've not read it all but it's apparently the daytime ones that are the problem and if you see them they have a little white marking on them as w...

Re: Big Fire At/Near Energy Project
Reading the reports, confirmed as the worker's camp for the Energy development. At least 100 buildings/huts destroyed. There were chaotic scenes as the residents tried to escape. Have to wait until morning for investigation into the cause and news on any casualties.

Re: Big Fire At/Near Energy Project
I was eating at a restaurant nearby when it started, could see some of the flames and smoke from where we were eating. I arrived at the restaurant about 7pm, it started not long after. Think it's the workers camp for the Energy project, it's like a small town in itself, extremely densely populated a...

Re: Eye Doctor (specialist) in HH
I would recommend Dr.Pirahat(that might not be exact spelling) he is located on Petchkasem road on the corner of the first small Soi on south side of Market Village. He treated me a few months back and I found him very professional, others I know had recommended him to me also.
