Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcycle

I'm trying to arrange insurance for my bike and AA Insurance have advised that because the bike is now 10-years old they can offer only 3rd-class insurance. This means limited coverage and nothing for Fire/theft. Does anyone know if it's possible to get 1st-class insurance for older bikes? Thanks, GN.

Re: The Runners Thread

Mrs. GN. managed to get a last-minute bib order in for us but registration was closed when I realised I will be in H.H. for the run. I have recently joined the Hua Hin Trail Runners group for training through the LHG's crap...

Re: Sam Roi Yot viewpoints

I was there a year ago and it was still under renovation. I don't think any of the pavilions were accessible when I visited. Very scenic. I recall Google Maps sending us on an offroad trip and we had to turn back due to deep water on the dirt road. Was good fun though... 200thb for foreigners, 40thb...

Re: Thailand Droughts Thread

Tankyou! Do you filter the water and drink it? At our condo we have two tanks. The first being the input/sediment tank and the second being the overfill that takes water from the first minus the sediment (hopefully). The second tank provides the output water to the condominium. They are open tanks s...

@HHTel, I'm curious how you keep your tanks clean...?

I did two large transfers in the past week whilst the exchange rate was 'ok'.
Arrived instantaneously. No issue.

Re: GBP vs THB

Impressed with the Wise savings rates. Recently went from 4.55% up to 4.78% on the USD account.
GBP currently at 4.12%.
Not available in Thailand unfortunately. Should have switched my account to the U.K. a long time ago.

Re: Pilot refuses to land over unfastened seatbelts

I’ve worked and travelled extensively throughout the Middle East and Subcontinent and I’m afraid to say that I saw numerous examples of people ignoring the seatbelt signs on planes - somewhat similar to the “me first” scenario witnessed in Thailand. Seen it countless times in the Middle East. Comin...
