Re: Lung cancer - quick and ruthless
Takiap, condolences to you and Adjarn's family for the tragic loss of a man still in the prime of life. The sad fact is that there is no 'one size fits all' in cancer and while we talk about cancer being derived from the organ of origin - "kidney cancer"; "bowel cancer" or "...

As a newbie to both HH and the Forum I'd love to put faces to usernames...I think! Not back over until December but certainly up for something then.

I will be there live tomorrow (one of the few benefits of living in Milan!) and pleased with the McLaren one-two...not sure the Red Shirts (no, Ferrari fans this time!) will be happy with my Union Jack knotted hankie!

Re: e-books and e-book reader
I bought a Kobo from WHSmith in the UK and use Calibre on my Mac to convert all sorts of files, including PDFs, to readable books. Now I can't prise it from the wife! For me the benefit over our iPads was battery life, weight and the e-ink plus the micro SD slot that stores around 1,500 books.

Re: Back to Blighty after 4 years
A very poignant, personal and honest report. I've lived outside the UK for almost three years now and sometimes feel irritated when I go back on business or for family reunions. I like my host country (Italy) even less, however, and long for the day where I can call HH or almost anywhere else my 'se...

Re: Thailand to release generic anti-impotence drug Silagra
Will this new generic be legally available without prescription? Generic drugs are based on the licensed status of the drugs they are copies of so if the branded equivalent is available at a pharmacy or over-the-counter in a 7-11, so should the generic. Sildenefil was developed by Pfizer's R&D ...

Re: Good quality lightweight printer/scanner
I bought a Brother laser printer in Tesco MV for around 3,500 THB although admittedly it is black and white and doesn't scan. In Italy I have an HP Photosmart C309 and it's excellent at printing photos, boarding cards and scans at a very high resolution. Additionally, One can print to it via Bluetoo...

Re: Depression / Bipolar Disorder
It's important to remember that psychiatry and psychology are two very different fields of study and substituting either their cause or treatments is very risky although they are both important in the area of psychotherapy. Psychiatry is mainly concerned with physiological, biochemical imbalances wi...

Re: POLL: Has 'Alternative' Medicine helped you?
This is a huge area to cover and in a part of the world where there is no socialised healthcare service and everything needs to be paid for privately, I imagine something that is attractive to consider. In the spirit of transparency, I should disclose that I have worked in the pharmaceutical industr...

Re: VPN Recommendations
I've just renewed my annual subscription to HideMyAss, which despite its quirky name is an excellent service. It allows you to choose where you want to be 'based' in the world and you can change it whenever you want. There are other useful add-ons such as anonymous, disposable email accounts and a s...

Buon giorno tutti!
Sadly that's almost the extent of my Italian despite living in Milan for over two years. As Brits, my wife and I visited a friend in HH for the first time last year and decided to buy a house (potential future home) nearby. We're coming over to sign the papers and pick-up the keys in August and may ...
