thank you all very er much for your um thoughts... really it's not that bad.. Well not really that bad. unfortunately she read randy's post, so when i tried to, er, tap my only remaining foot, she realised what was happening and tried to run me over with the car. She's very nice. really. just, er, trying to help, saying i looked silly jumping up and down on my foot like that.
and with my hands in, you know, such a state, it's very difficult to get my pants off anyway... really, it's not that bad. so long as she, you know, sort of remembers the pills
oh, and please, you know, don't say the 'f' word. she really hates football...

I hope that Jorge Lorenzo does well in tomorrows MotoGP. You see, his feet are broken too..

TT Races

Post by Sabai Jai »

Dear All

I've been watching coverage of The Isle of Man TT this week on ITV4 (in London). Good cover of this exceptional event, they have obviously spent a bit more this year, plenty of camera, helicopter and the on-board cameras are getting pretty good now too.

Very impressed by this meeting which is the greatest road race in the world. The riders all seem to be very 'ordinary' guys but the skill, determination and courage required for this 37 Mile course is really quite extraordinary.

BBC 2 did a very good review of the week program today which you may be able to pick up on Web or Sat with a bit of luck.

Best regards SJ

SJ: Would love to watch the Isle of Man TT. I guess we could possibly pick it up on the Internet - but, quite frankly, our connection here is definitely dot and carry one and it would take an age.

I did watch the MotoGP tonight from Catalunya. Was Rossi really having trouble overtaking Casey Stoner, or was he just entertaining us? The Ducati definitely seem to have the edge on the straights.

Well done to James Toseland getting 6th place (and he's such a handsome young man  ).

It's been a bit of a motorsport night. We've also been watching the practice for the Canadian F1 Grand Prix - Mr. Hamilton on pole. We have one of those old fashioned video machines, so we can tape things. It's geared up to tape the Grand Prix, which I think is on at some unearthly hour. We can then watch it at our leisure when we get home from work tomorrow.

PS: I'm not really that bad, and I'm not a nurse, although I did get all my St. John's Ambulance badges...

Dear VS

I also watched the GP on Sunday and enjoyed the duel between Stoner and the Doctor. It was very exciting, Rossi's skill on the bends against the Ducati's straight line speed!

No Ducati's or any other none Japanese bikes doing well in the TT, dominated by Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha with Farquar giving Kawasaki a look in.

I owned one of these beasts for 7 years. A 1979 900cc Mike Hailwood Ducati. Twin 40mm delorto's, single seat, rear sets, clipons and a brace of contis. It made a proper noise. Not the sewing machines you get today. Pure sex on two wheels....

Nice one RC

Only ever owned one Duc, 250 Daytona but I wrapped it round a car. Replaced it with a full race trim Taylor Dow Goldie

That picture you pit up of the Norvin is pure heaven. What a fantastic looking maching. All that polishing...oooooh. Locked in a garage with half a ton of autosolve a pile of rags and radio 4.
There's no polishing these days its all plastic (christ I sound like my dad)
I also liked the manx norton, pure beast... 8)

Richard

I had forgotten about Scarborough...my Grand dad took me to Olivers Mount when I was a lad.

Do they still use that circuit?

Richard and RC: lovely pics guys. Both bikes are definitely 'sex on two wheels' but also single seaters. Not 'pick-up' machines - as there's nowhere for the lass to sit. Never mind, you could always go home and come back in your Escort MkII.

Randy, you brought memories back with 'autosolve' or was it Autosol? My interest in bikes came from my brother - he had a beautiful Royal Enfield Clipper and whilst he did the technical bits, I cleaned up the chrome. Together we built a beautiful machine. Gosh, I'm getting all nostalgic...

I agree about 'a proper noise'. A real motorbike shouldn't whistle, it should roar.
