I am moving to HuaHin soon and would like to know if there is a language school in the town?
Or do you think there is no advantage to learning Thai.

Hi surfer, welcome to the board. Can't help you with the language school, but rest assured there is a huge advantage in learning at least some Thai.seasidesurfer wrote:I am moving to HuaHin soon and would like to know if there is a language school in the town?

Thanks for the advice about learning some Thai.
I will buy a good book to keep me busy until I return to HuaHin in Jan.
Thanks again.

Re: Learning To Speak Thai
The advantage of learning Thai may not obvious at the beginning however it can certainly improve your life if you stay in Thailand permanently. I also strongly advise you to learn the script as well as this is the only way to gain a deeper understanding of the language. After some practice, you will be able to read signs on the streets, open a dictionary and look up words etc and that will help you into not being dependent on other people (your wife or girlfriend for example)seasidesurfer wrote: Or do you think there is no advantage to learning Thai.

Hey there SSS.
Would you be wanting to learn Thai or to speak 'Yorkshire Thai'?
..Arai-na?
Seriously tho' I got a book/language course called 'Colloquial Thai',
coupla CDs in the pack, good big book, well explained, but not cheap
at around 25 quid+.
If you cannot find it in Scurribro' then they do have it in the bookshops
here in HH.
As a last note,I did a language course for 2 weeks at a place next to
the Kodak photo shop on Petkasem Rd just before the hospital going
southbound outa town. This shop doubles as a ticket agency i think.
Cheers now.
