Watching and listening to the Pink Floyd concert at Earls Court (Mr.VS was there). It's just got to be the best concert....ever...

A lifetime ago I saw them at a Montreal stadium. First half was Dark side of the moon, the second half was Wish you were here. Yes, for its day it was stunning.

Something for the old grumpies amongst us

THIS WILL PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE...

If you were alive in 1957, and old enough to enjoy Rock and Roll, you will probably remember the group, "The Diamonds" who had just launched their super hit "Little Darlin' ".

For you that are too young to remember - it was a time when the performers were happy, enjoying themselves, respecting their fans, dressed appropriately and their lyrics could be understood.

They did not feel obligated to scream, eat the microphone, mumble inaudible lyrics or trash the set.
In 1957, The Diamonds had a hit with "Little Darlin" 47 years later, they were requested to perform at Atlantic City ...

This link leads to both performances.
Watch the first one then scroll down for the new one 47 years later.

Tom Hanks father is much better looking than Tom, and even better looking with age. In the linked videos Tom Hank's father is the lead singer on the left. He still has it!

Hope you enjoy.

47 years apart 2 Performances --

He's the guy on the left.

F.E.A.R. - Ian Brown.

Amazing lyrics. For those of you who haven't heard it, every line in the song has FEAR as the initials:

"Fantastic expectations, amazing revelations
Final execution and resurrection
Free expression as revolution
Finding everything and realizing"

Brown's influence was The Autobiography of Malcolm X.

Ever had that annoying feeling where you find a tune going through your head and you can't remember what the name of it is and can't remember where you heard it from? Could have been a movie or sitting in a bar/restaurant or something just triggered that portion of grey matter. Well I'd been bugged by the very such thing for a couple of days and even tried my smartphone software (alas, the best software in the world can't handle my tone deaf singing).

Finally tracked it down. Suddenly hit me that it was an old hillbilly movie it was played on. Thanks to uncle Google and auntie YouTube I found it.

Here tis....................
