I'll give you what I know (from what I've been told), which is not all of it I'm sure. Mandatory liability is about 300 Baht a year which covers ONLY the person you may hit, not yourself or your MB. Theft insurance is about 1,500 Baht per year, 2,000 Baht for two years.

I'm aware that extended policies are available to cover injury to you and damage to your MB. I don't know what these cost.

I think if you drive into any MB dealer, they can give you a choice of a insurance companies and coverages. Pete

I only have one here which the wife uses from the purchase of her last bike:

The Southeast Insurance
315 Southeast Insurance Building, G 1-3 FL
Silom Road, Bangrak, Bangkok 10500
Phone 02-631-1311

They may have an office/agent in HH as well, call them. Pete

Is there really a possibility to take an extra insurance for motorbike? Anyone got one, how much and
what is the max. compensation per accident? Those with knowledge/real experience, please step forth!

BTW, if you ever have an accident with your motorbike, make a police report on the
matter no later than 24 hrs from the accident. Then call the insurance company where
the bike is insured. The regular, compulsory insurance pays max. 15 Kbaht per accident
only if the police report is done on time.
