No, never disappointed to be knocked out. I'd rather concentrate on league survival. We aren't going to with competition, so why risk injury/pick up suspensions?

Well they won on Saturday so a chance to get a big pay day against one of the big boys (pun intended) in today’s draw

Not really thought of that at this stage, but I guess it could well be a big pay day for some. On the other end of the scale, what would Arsenal & Liverpool taken from their match? Huge crowds, TV rights et al. Then, if it wasn't for the last 15 minutes or so could have been a replay in Liverpool - once again, huge crowds, TV rights (?).

On the other end of things, the likes of Swansea, Wrexham and Plymouth (sorry BB) wouldn't have such large crowds simply due to "Stadium" size, but as DB says - a big pay day possible! :thumb:

[EDIT] As an aside, what kind of money are clubs receiving for "TV Rights"?

Most games are a sell out these days anyway. The only way they make more is if the TV shows it.

I don't remember the TV numbers, but yes, it is very worthwhile.

As thought/hoped, Superbru indeed have the FA Cup Predictor - coming in at Round 4 :D

As such, the HHF - FA Cup Prediction League (aka "Wot No Arse" ) has been set up. Aside from non HHF members & friends, those who took part last year should have received an invitation by Email. For those who didn't and are interested in taking part this year, see below information: -

Join HHF - FA Cup 2024: -

https://www.superbru.com/facup/pool.php?p=12739127

or by downloading the Superbru app and searching for the pool with code:

Good luck to all!! :thumb:

I'm sure there's plenty to be made from both aspects, but lower league clubs will not exactly have the same home attendance as the top Premier League clubs - ManU 70K+, Liverpool 60+K just to name a couple. Then look at the lower leagues in Round 4 - Wrexham 15K, Plymouth Argyle ( ) +/- 19K... A huge difference in capacity and well, TV rights.

And just to note, I'm certainly not taking the pi$$ out of the likes of Wrexham or Plymouth on capacity, Bath Rugby challenging for the Premiership have less than 15K and much of that temporary!! They will also be hosting Racing 92 this coming weekend, a HUGE match in rugby terms!

Plymouth have made a stadium that is fit for purpose with their league status. When the horseshoe of the stadium was designed, it was done in such a way that additional tiers could be added if their status required it. I don't think anybody could have imagined they would be selling out week after week in the 3rd tier of English football, and now at the lower end of the 2nd tier. I'm presuming somebody is working out the cost of adding an extra tier against gate receipts being lost. The club management really have their heads screwed on at the moment, and they certainly will want to be sure before making that investment. I've been inside an empty Home Park when it was 38,000 capacity - it is a lonely place. Those days could easily return. No point in jumping before you can walk. They almost went out of business when the Japanese sugar daddies :cuss: tried to move too far, too fast.

As for extra money from gate receipts, or course, every little helps, but it isn't the huge windfall many imagine. This link kind of explains how much clubs get https://www.betpromo.uk/percentage-gate-receipts-away/ . However, a small club being drawn away to a big club isn't that much of an attraction, and gates will usually be down, and the big club will drop prices to encourage supporters.

They will make much more money if the game is televised live.

Plymouth being drawn away to a club like Leeds is about as bad as it gets. Leeds aren't exactly known for their pretty football. Yes, Plymouth stand a fair chance of success, but be sure there will be a few cards picked up, and maybe some injuries. This is a consolidation season for Plymouth in the Championship. They do not need to be faffing about in the FA Cup, picking suspensions and injuries. Enjoy the rest and hopefully survive to fight another season in the Championship. C'mon Leeds
