"My bad!"
Where the hell did that come from? Probably the US.

'My truth'. Ugh! When used it eradicates the need for any actual facts regarding a past event. 'Oh, if that's your truth, then we shan't question it.'
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.

"feel me" the latest from urban America
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Just recently come across that one, migrant. I had to ask google. Apparently it means "Do you understand me".
If a girl said that to me, I'd get arrested for my subsequent action!!

Talking of Americanisms, another one I hear almost all the time these days, even by journalists and interviewers, is 'I guess' instead of 'I suppose'.
(Oh dear, I seem to have opened a can of worms! )

For me this is number one with a bullet. Simply encapsulates the coastal American's fantasied narcissism and self-centredness. "I believe it, so it's true".

That one is an Aussieism.

Thought it was as the first time I heard it was whilst in Sydney - but the phrase seemed to be everywhere from then on..... I just put it down to the fact that much like being fashionable, I'm somewhat unaccomplished in the art of using slang!!

People who refer to their lives(or part thereof) as a 'journey'
"I'm still on my incredible journey"
Usually whilst still in the same place they were born and went to school
Oh, do **** off!

We’re all on a journey - there’s a beginning and an end, so the middle bit is the one you need to concentrate on!!

So, is “whilst” like a throwback to whenever? I thought we moved on to “while.”
