Motorbike & car rental, Cha-Am and Hua Hin

Post by deptrai »

We're coming back in late November for our almost annual holiday to the region and are strongly considering hiring a car and motorbike this time. Will be staying at Baan Chan Talay (near The Energy) between Cha-Am & Hua Hin. I always rent a motorbike, but this time would like to rent a small car for a week as well. We'll be there for 10 nights total. 9-10 days motorbike + 7 days car. I like the convenience & entertaining factor of the motorbike, but would also like an air conditioned car to be able to travel and explore a bit further out like the PKK area and further inland.

So, any recommendations for a reputable car hire place? Cha-Am would be closer, but Hua Hin would work as well.
Preferably one where I car rent both the car and motorbike from. Coming from the US and will obtain an International driving permit before coming to Thailand.

Any other advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Barring any specific advice, the best may be to go through the below search results. Hit "More Places" at the bottom of the visible listings.

I've used these guys 3 times now. Not expensive, and very reliable.

Deptrai, having looked at Big Boys post, I think his recommendation would be the one to follow rather than my earlier post.

I'd recommend U-Drive for car rental. I know several people who have used them with nothing but praise. They claim to be the only ones with full 'rental' insurance.

Example:
2021 year Mitsubishi Attrage GLX auto, Bluetooth MP3 USB front camera rear sensor.
Sedan car 4 doors, ample boot.
Monthly rate 12,500 plus a deposit of 5000 baht, refunded back to you on a no damage return of the car back to us.
Roadside/accident support anywhere in Thailand. As with all our cars the car has proper rental insurance type A120 for any licensed driver.
Free local delivery to your place in Hua Hin district.
I have noticed that booking is necessary as they're often fully booked.

Worth checking out.

8000 Baht or even 12500 Baht/month seems very cheap. It will be more expensive to buy a car and pay for insurance and service.

I would recommend U Drive Hua HIn.
When you need a rental car in Hua Hin.
U Drive Hua Hin car rental has 7 years experience in car rentals.
All our cars have proper rental insurance (type120) if it's not type 120 it's not rental insurance. We offer roadside assistance anywhere in Thailand and no mileage limits or weekend loading.
For your convenience we can also deliver your car to your place in the Hua Hin district.
Talk to Jennie for the best local deals

I emailed them details and they replied asking me to contact them via Line or Whatsapp. Does this seem dodgy or legit. I have enough apps on my mobile and don't need another. I prefer having documented conversations in email.
