Pasta Factory review, sorry disappointed
I also have found the Pasta Factory to be crap. I love many different foods, having good foods be it Thai, Italian, Med, Mexican or Indian is great. Why do some people think we should just it Thai food - dont be stupid! great food comes from the world over - bring it all on.
Well said Dawn.
Delizio - near to All in Hua Hin is very nice - i eat there regularly - it does feel like your in Italy.

italian food
The problem is that in Thailand most of the European food is of such poor quality.
I seldom eat Italian food in England ,France or Germany since it falls so far below the standards of Italian food in Italy or Switzerland.
In England now there is such a huge influx of Thais and Thai ingedients that you can get excellent Thai food in the UK.

Just getting back on the track of the Pasta Factory rather than international food variation. We had an unfortunate experience in the Pasta Factory, my wife (Thai) wanted Spagetti Arrabiata as she had eaten on visits to Italy. We duly ordered and she was disapointed to be served a dish of Penne with Arrabiata sauce. When I compained the owner Hannes told me that the pasta served with Arrabiata sauce is always Penne and not Spagetti!! Wife of course did not understand as to her all Pasta should be like Spagetti and would not eat the Penne. I asked Hannes if he could serve a plate Spagetti extra and then transfer the sauce to the Spagetti. "Oh no not possible the Spagetti will take another 30 minutes to cook" was the reply. This I likened to a Thai restaurant not having rice on tap.
The result of his attitude is that we certainly won't be going there again.
Oh about the road noise. The road was there a long time before the Pasta Factory so it seems to me he has only himself to blame for moving there.

30 minutes for spaghetti? Even the dry packet variety is 7-10 minutes - fresh far less. Boll***s! Yes, Penne is the accepted pasta with arrabiata sauce, but "customer is always right" should play a part in a resterauteur's philosophy

But meandering a bit, since my wife joined me in the UK, she has tried, but not always enjoyed a variety of food. Thai is very much No.1 and she cooks like an Angel, but she obviously enjoys a Sunday Roast (out, at cost), most pasta and munched her way with gusto through a sausage bap for lunch today. As for brekky, (thankfully) Bacon, sauasage and eggs rule at weekends! Gonna try her on black pudding next.
Talk is cheap
My wife and I had a terrible experience -- the waitress (wife of the owner?) was RUDE -- as if we were street scum trying to get dinner at a 5-Star NY restaurant. The food, was bad, and the portions very small. Mosquitoes at our ankles the whole time. NOISY.... AND when I paid with a 1000 baht note the waitress asked me if I had change, I said no, and she then asked my wife if she had change......?????
Who are those people? Where do they get off being so pretentious when they are merely part of a food chain slightly better than MacDonalds?
Note the last word of the restaurants name -- Factory. If you like assembly line service this is the place to go.
There are MANY Italian restaurants that are far better in HH.

I don’t eat in Italian restaurants in Hua Hin, but if I did I would know where not to go! After reading some of the reviews on this thread I’m beginning to wonder how this guy stays solvent. I can only imagine that his business model revolves around getting in customers who are on holiday and are only going to go there once anyway.

The garden is bloody nice here. They just need to sound proof it from the road noise with some glass or something.
The bad attitudes seem the main thing that pisses people off.
I cannot understand how any entrepreneur can ignore what must be the painfully obvious. If this thread is anything to go by the owner must realise by now that he has a few problems to sort out.
It amazes me that someone can choose to go into a service industry and then appear not to have a clue about how to look after people.
Glad I read this as we were planning a visit there on our next trip down to HH this weekend, I love good pasta!

I know Hannes can be a bit hyper and Fawltyesque (Brits will understand)
so much so that my partner and I call the place Basil's. Having said that we have always found the food to be excellent.
Nut is always charming as is Hannes when not Basil mode.
Will still be going there when we come in January to see if things have changed for the worse as reported here.
I do hope not.
