That to me looks like fume ignition when they opened something, but it's just a guess. Very lucky the rest of the gasoline and diesel didn't go up with it.

Burned human remains were found as rescuers scoured the fire blackened oil tanker Smooth Sea 2 for a missing man after firemen extinguished a blaze on board the vessel, which was moored at a pier in Samut Prakan, on Wednesday.

One person was confirmed seriously injured and was being treated in hospital. Two other men received minor injuries.

One person had been reported missing. It was not known if his were the remains found by Natthakit Pornnimitthep, of the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.

Mr Natthakit said he found a head, a right leg, a right arm and a left ankle. All were badly burned. The rest of the body was missing, he said.

More likely the usual Thai "safety" procedures. They may have been trying to stow the crane boom used to lift the loading hose, as it appears to be at an odd angle in one of the photos.

The local police reported that they were investigating claims that someone had tampered with the hydraulic system on the tanker causing the fire and explosions. They, however, reported that the vessel while heavily damaged remained stable and there was no further pollution. The authorities however were also checking for potentially dangerous levels of oil or gas vapor remaining aboard the vessel.

The fire happened after the tanker had completely unloaded oil to the oil terminal.
