Hep A / Typhoid vaccine

Post by bigston »

We are currently getting closer to being able to "Move to Thailand"
to our new house
having so much trouble getting the Hep A / Typhoid vaccination here
is it easy enough to make an appointment and get this jab there.
or should it be done here in Aus before departure
we are/ will be living in Pranburi
Thank You.

This kind of surprises me as neither are mandatory to come here or to live here. Hepatitis A is readily available per my understanding, as are the shots for the other hepatitis variants.

Typhoid is a different story. I'm sure the vaccine is available at the larger hospitals here more readily than it may be in Australia, but do you really need to get it? It would be interesting to hear what other expats here think.

Personally I haven't had one here since the Vietnam war days when it was mandatory.

Not counting Covid (which I'm sure will be a requirement), there are no required vaccines for entry to Thailand. There are several recommendations based upon various criteria.

I would think the Red Cross Clinic next to the Tessebahn would be a good starting point.

From the clock tower go South to the traffic lights and turn right towards the railway station. Go past the Tessebahn, and it is the next building on your left.
