Just shows that if you employ one man and his dog to watch each other working, what slow progress you get as a consequence! What is it now - 6 months and counting?
If it is, I hope they have their calculations and measurements correct so it flushes and refills daily with the tides. If not it could turn into a real stinking mess.

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
It is not fully enclosed. The protective breakwater has, at present, significant gaps to allow water in and out. I suspect that it will eventually fill up with sand and end up looking like the rest of Cha Am beach.
If you look down at the bottom of that trench you can see a row of pilings that are being cut level. I can’t imagine what those are for so deep below what would be mean high tide.
They’re just trying to extend and reinforce the shoreline. Possibly all for naught. I watched sad video on FB today showing high waves during high tide washing away much of the work and felling trees that have been there for years.
Having watched the video a couple of times, it sort of reminds me of Cha Am Beach many years ago. I'd actually forgotten that to get onto the beach you had to drop down a small bank before getting onto the sand. I guess this is just nature restoring itself.
My early memories of Cha Am were that I didn't like it very much, but since moving here in 2012 it became my favoured beach in the area. Obviously, a lot of the beach was man made.
I think I can see the protruding pier in the centre of the prom, so I guess this damage is the Southern end. Has similar damage been done North of the protruding pier?
