:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: MADNESS :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

They have improved this junction, and IMHO it is a serious accident waiting to happen.

Unfortunately (yes, I know some will say fortunately) for some crazy reason my dashcam was not turned on , so I will have to try to describe the chaos:

- They've reinstated the roundabout, but it seems to serve no logical purpose other than putting an obstruction in the road to prevent people cutting corners.

- The worst bit is they have created 2 separate Eastbound roads that meet exactly where drivers have to decide Soi 88 or towards the station. So traffic has to negotiate a fast crossroads (no priority indicator) right where traffic will be giving way to Southbound traffic from the direction of the station. Knowing the 'me first' attitude in this country, collisions are inevitable.

What is worse about this change - no change of priorities notification. Probably the most dangerous bit of road in Hua Hin for the next few days until everybody becomes aware of who has priority. Yes, there will be an unwritten Thai rule somewhere that we will all have to get used to.

Just be careful until we all understand how we are meant to negotiate this madness.

Actually, southbound traffic should be giving way to traffic in and out of Soi 88. I know people take no notice but there is a 'Give Way' sign just before Soi 88 when coming from the station.

I've never noticed it - will have a look on Google Maps to see where it is

And here it is - I will be extra vigilant next time I go that way to see if anything is obscuring it. I've cursed other drivers many times there for cutting me up

That being the case, there is no reason for traffic to slow down. Even more dangerous then.

I guess something big will be happening here over the next few days. The translation is poor, but I guess avoid it if you can:
Informing Hua Hin people, please avoid the chicken pond roundabout route between 25-26 November 2563 from 09.00 pm. To 12.00 am Due to Chino-Thai Engineering & Construction Co Ltd., the contractor will be putting railroad bridge beams in the area. Please, the users of the road avoid such routes for convenience and reduce traffic problems.

Using the route along the railroad behind Maketville mall, going to the train cutting point in Huahin 94
And the road along the canal, chicken casino, cutting point at Islamic Station. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Traffic event. Police station. Hua Hin

Common sense has prevailed, eventually. The 2nd Eastbound road has now been blocked off.
