Problem ringing the UK today

Hello BMs
I am having troubles ringing the UK today, my screen shows connecting but does not connect, also the tone sounds different.
I use an AIS 1-2-Call pre paid sim with 250 thb credit and a good signal strength. I have tried 00344 also +44 but no luck.
I was able to text and recieve a reply text, FWIW the phone I use is 1st generation but works fine.

Not sure whether this could be the issue, but there are a lot of problems in the UK with flooding and power cuts due to Storm Ciara. Friends in West Wales have certainly suffered.

Yup, blowing a gale here in Lincs. Power lines could be down.

Home is a Virgin media cable, so should be OK but you know what the UK is like when it gets a bit of bad weather.

Neither going to help with a power cut to be fair - Mobile Stations have been down in West Wales, as have Internet Routers obviously...... Bizarrely, the landline in the local pub was still up through which friends contacted us! Of course the pub was the first point of safety!!

Hi All
Called my family in UK yesterday same problem with instant engaged tone.
Used whatsapp and no problem.
My family checked their line with another family member in the UK and no problems.
Judging by the speed of the engaged tone cutting in I would say a problem on the Thai side.
