Guide to Managing Private Messages

Post by PeteC »

There may be times when registered members do not want to receive Private Messages (PM's) from other members.

The following is a step by step guide showing how that can be accomplished.

1) At the top right hand side of every page of the forum you will see the following:

Click on Private messages

2) You will be taken to your Inbox page. On the left side you will see your control panel as follows:

At the bottom of the control panel select: Rules, folders & settings

You will see the following section at the top of the screen, and this is the only portion of the screen we'll be dealing with.

Select the option Sender and click Next

Select the option is and click Next

Fill in the Senders name whom you would like to block. The name needs to be exactly as registered so it is suggested that you copy/paste from one of the person's posts. Then click Next.

Select the option Delete message and click Add rule

Your newly Defined Rule will now be listed as below. To delete the rule click Delete rule. To add additional people repeat the process.

What will happen now is that when you go to Private messages, any message sent by someone whom you have blocked will be automatically and immediately deleted, you will never see it or know that the person tried to send you a message.
