As to the actual event, none of us commentators really know anything and having nothing else to do, were just blowing our own horns. We humans are very peculiar.
Indeed we are!

I did some consulting for a business in the UK a couple of years ago and the MD applied what he called a “w**ker tax” of anywhere between 50-100% to people and companies who fit the description. They were still w**kers but they also still paid double and it seems everyone was happy to live with it.

The dual pricing thing has its origins in China, where the principal that 'foreigners pay double' has been entrenched for generations.
Thai business logic revolves around three insane mantras:
1) If you have a regular customer, you can't be charging enough.
2) If business is slack, you need to put up your prices.
3) The best place to open a shop is next door to one doing exactly the same thing.

Just to say, my daughter-in-law had 10,000฿ lifted from her purse (left smaller denominations behind) at a Binthabat 'late night' bar last night. No obvious groups of any Male Guys, no violence, just party goers. Bit of a bummer, but could have happened anywhere in the world.

Sorry that happened, BB. But knowing the 'reputations' of some down the bintablock it was a little unwise to carry that much cash in her purse. More than 250 quid!!

That sucks! Sorry to hear that BB but the obvious question...
Why on earth carry so much moolah late at night in a Binthabat bar? Sure, it's only a couple hundred quid, but did she really intend to possibly spend that much? She also maybe flashed it at some point and became a target?
