I think they're worrying about too many people sitting in one area socialising. Most will visit the market, buy what they want and be on their way. My theory, and it is only a theory seems to be borne out by the erection of a tented city outside Baan Khun Por to sell takeaways.

It's a shame the same thinking didn't apply to Hua Hin Hospital today where social distancing was impossible.

Would you care to expand please? Restaurants where? Was it a problem?

I'm guessing Food Courts are a victim of their own success, and authorities have taken action to keep numbers under 50.

Restaurants in HH of course, yesterday they were open and what about hotels, guesthouses...Do they disinfect rooms after every customer ?????

I don't think the government will ever do that. Half or more of the Thai population can't afford to shop anywhere but a wet market, and more and more of them will be out of work as time goes by. If anything they'll implement more cleaning and disinfecting than is done normally and perhaps try to stagger hours better. At present where I am most are only open in the morning, I think primarily because most of the meat and vegetables etc., sell out before noon.

There was an earlier disaster where floods were confined to Prachuab Khirikhan, a depression that sat over the area for a couple of weeks. At that time, Hua Hin was practically cut off both North and South. Food stalls were set up on high ground giving out food and water to anyone who needed it.

So again, yes, they can do it.

This was on a limited area. Now we are speaking of a nation wide situation.

Although nationwide, the problem would be solved by each province/changwat. Control would be in 'limited areas' which is the only way it can be handled.

The 2011 floods were far from being a 'limited area. It covered most of the South, North, NorthEast as well as BKK. There were national initiatives including flood barriers and rescues, but humanitarian aid was carried out locally.
