You cant even do 90 day reporting online any longer - so little chance of anything else immigration-related functioning properly online I'm afraid. Though there is hope that they will have fixed their web infrastructure by December (a small hope at that).

Here's another visa question.
Friends from the US are moving to Thailand, wife is Thai, and wants to know how long after arrival he has until reporting to immigration.
She seems to think it's 24 hrs. but, even for Thailand, that doesn't sound reasonable.
They can't find any info on the IM website.

Yes, it's 24 hours from arrival, meaning the next day basically. If he doesn't, I think it's 100 baht per day until he gets there. They'll give him a slip he has to staple in his passport showing he has reported his address in Thailand.

Short term temporary changes of address don't need to be reported, i.e., a week/weekend away sightseeing etc.

If he moves permanently though, or exits/re-enters the country, he has to do it all over again.

This has been on the books for decades, but they only started seriously enforcing it about 4 years ago.

There are forms to be filled out and signed by the property owner of the address he is reporting, as well as a signed copy of his/her Thai ID card. I don't have the form numbers or names in mind at the moment. If no one comes up with them I'll try to find them later on.

I think he needs to do numbers 15 and 16 on the list at the link.

Thank you! Just what I was looking for since I will be applying for Retirement visa and I do not own or rent any property. So the address will be my wife's house where we live together.

Funny though. I have lived so many years here, and my wife has never reported me staying there within these 24 hours mentioned. When that is said though I have always reported the address on arrival and of course every year I have extended my previous marriage visa. I thought the report card on arrival is the actual reporting on where you are staying? I know hotels and resorts report but didn't know that my wife needs to do the same. Weird nobody at Imm has informed or told us this.

If they did it correctly, they wouldn't process anyone's extension request if the resident form wasn't evident. They're meant to check if present in your passport at 90 day reporting as well.

I know a few who have been caught out, but as you say, each location my have their own habits that run hot and cold.

I hope that in time they'll forget about the whole thing once again and it will go back to sleep.

There is an older thread on this issue some place else in this forum section. Again, I'll try to find it later on.

When I first arrived I didn't do a 90 day report for 2 years. I didn't know you had to! Then someone told me I was supposed to report to the police every 90 days which I did but it was very casual. It was never mentioned why I'd not reported before.

No one's ever asked me anything at the 90-day report. They take my passport, tear out the old paper, put in the new one, hand back the passport and that's it. It's like a silent movie.

As mentioned yesterday, here is the thread concerning the 24 hour TM 28 and 30 issue, all 24 pages of it. Posts from the other thread all moved to here.

Read the opening post on page 1 which gives a full explanation of the process.

TM30 Issue

Post by derek60 »

I was planning to stay in my own Condo apartment when Covid struck. I had set up an account on:
https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/
to do TM30 reporting
but now I can't remember the password. But when I go to 'forgot password' it asks for a User ID as well as an email address.

Is this Use ID something I made up when I registered? If so, is it possible to recover it? Any advice welcome!
