Exactly, there is no proper rule book to work to. They can do what they want. Even brianhuahin's meticulous preparations could be rubbished next year.

Just thinking of the Thai football thread, there are similarities - the rules of each game depend upon which version the ref plays to. This country has some very strange ways. It is laughable until it starts to affect people personally.

I've not lost any sleep yet, in fact I'm still quite relaxed about it at the moment, but I'm sure there are many people who are worrying.

Any info on how to contact an immigration visa agent would be greatly appreciated. I did a search of the forum and the web with very limited results. Thanks in advance.

"Retirement" Visa

Post by Sealcat »

Hi all... have been trying to follow the conversations regarding possible changes to retirement visa, ie in my case 800K in bank for 3 months minimum, but am sorely confused with all the side options and ideas. Can anyone post a simple rundown on the proposed changes to my type of visa? Thanks....

^^
The biggest change is apart from the seasoning before extension (some offices 3 months, other offices 2 months)...now your 800k has to stay in your account 3 months AFTER your extension...and after those 3 months your balance is not allowed to drop below 400k at any time.
AFAIK the pre-seasoning at Hua Hin is 2 months, but take notice it is counted on your FILING date...not your extension date...whereas the 3 months AFTER are counted from your extension date. Makes sense?
So in short you have to keep 800k in your account for 6 months and 400k for the rest of your extension year.
Rinse and repeat....
