If I could buy what I need here, I wouldn't order from overseas. Recently things that I could buy here have stopped being carried here. I.E. a Calcium/Magnesium compound. They can be bought separately but not together. I won't even go into the quality. This is the most F'd up country I've ever lived in and I've lived in 8 others.

And yet ............

..... sorry, couldn't help myself. :D :D :D

But yes, have noticed vitamins / supplements have gone up a bit in price, and harder to source. Especially quality ones. Import is extreme high risk, as heavy, and if discovered, confiscated.

I used to get my Vit C sent over, as Amazon would have on sale for $10-15 USD, and even with shipping, was half price of what's available here. But since they cracked down a bit, along with increased postal fees, it's no long worth risking, and simply stock up here when on sale. 3 bottles of 500 tabs of 1000mg is too easily noticed by customs, and too expensive to ship separately.

Same with Centrum, and silly priced here.

Centrum isn't worth the price in the US either. It's what the people in the vitamin industry call junk vitamins. All synthetic, low doses, poorly absorbed and utilized. There are much better multi-vitamins at low prices. But if we can no longer import them that's a moot point.

I don't know what going to do as my wife has an incurable illness that is stabilized by the supplements that she takes and they are unavailable here at any price.

As to your "and yet", I'm here due to finances and family. If I had double my present income we'd be on the next plane out of here.

Already take Kirkland Vit C, and now ordered their Multi.....as USP verified as decent (Kirkland) supplements.

Available on Shopee (both) and LAZ (Vit C) from in country vendors.

For anyone interested.

Now back to them pesky custom folks and online shopping.....

Oh yea, THANKS for the enlightenment........

For the past 14 years I have had a friend in Florida go to a GNC shop buy six jars or 250 caplets ( in my cast B Complex Big 100) and post to me with tracker, 5 times now and has arrived every time. Also declared contents price under $75 with no customs problem either.

Handdrummer, I’m going to the UK maybe next month and certainly in June, and can bring you back supplements if you haven’t managed to source alternative stock in the meantime. I buy my high dose calcium/D3 tablets from a local pharmacy there, probiotic multivitamins from Boots the Chemist, and I order the rest (e.g. 1000ug vitamin B12) from natures best.co.uk which has good quality control and reasonable prices. PM me if I can be of any help.

Thank you, that's really kind. I'll be ordering, from iherb, in a day or 2 and if I need your help I'll PM you.

My parcel from the UK to Hua Hin disappeared last August. With hindsight I was stupid to be honest enough to write "Trainers and chocolate" as required on the customs label stuck on the outside of the package.

Just an update on my recent parcels ( both tracked) both arrived. I complained about the import tax, filled in a form at the post office, they sent the parcel back to Bangkok to be reviewed. Anyway I ended up not paying anything , so that was good. There still seemed a lot of confusion with the post office though. Still this is Thailand.. Also the postman just left all the parcels and post for our estate in a ridiculous place, where they all could of been stolen.

Update on this after recieving a parcel from the UK recently. It was pre-opened and a 650 baht customs duty slapped on it. The parcel contained about 1,500 baht's worth of confectionery, cosmetics, and some vitamins.

Those nice folk at the post office told us that this was the 'new normal' and all incoming packages from overseas would be subject to duty.

They really are trying to claw back all of that Covid stimulus money. :guns:

^ I'll let you know. I have an IHerb order enroute which is under 1,500. No duty withheld at origin.
