Got a new 90 days-slip at the same time.....But how do they count the days?
5 days left of November+ January and February = 2x31.....New report date 19th of February....
5+31+31+19 = 86 days not 90....
Not of great importance...but it has always puzzled me how they do the counting....You always ending up getting less than 90 days...
It's not counted from the date your 90 day report was due. It's counted from the day you reported. i.e. today in your case.
It does mean that if you report 2 weeks early, which is allowed, 90 days is counted from then meaning your next visit will be due 2 weeks earlier than if you had waited.
I usually go during the 7 days following the due date.

I actually went one day after my due date, and still only got 86 days....
But your post got me thinking...maybe it is based on your start date for reporting...?

But if it was done today, then the maths provided in the above example are correct at only 86 days from today until 19th February?
Yes, I get you. Didn't do the math for your case but when I had the same query, (I'd gone early) I went back to the desk and I was told that it's 90 days from today, not 90 days from the stated reporting date.
I stopped checking mine after that query.
Just checked my last one. Reported on the 5th Nov, report back on 3rd Feb. 25 + 31 + 31 + 3 = 90 days

Checking my data, a possible explanation is that their software calculates this way:
next date = date of last arrival/entry + p x 89 days; where p =1,2,3... is the number of parole periods
For example, if you entered on 28/02/18, the reporting dates will be (hint: Windows calculator can deal with dates)
1. 28/05/18
2. 25/08/18
3. 22/11/18
4. 19/02/19
Thus, 4 x (90-89) = 4 days were 'missing' => 90-4 = apparent 86 days given

I think you are on to something...
But that means with no new entries, you will lose 1 day every time you report......so after 5 years without leaving to country your 90 days will become 70 days......Too absurd even for being Thailand...
In previous years, I always made a point of attending before the due date i.e. 4 times a year...
This year, I used a spreadsheet date function to work out the dates for me and soon realised that if you attend 89 + 5 days after the due date (which never caused me any problems at TI in Tha Yang) you only have to do three 90 day reports instead of four.
If you apply this to Laser's start date you get:
Attend: Wed 28 February 2018
Due date: Mon 28 May 2018 Attend: Sat 2 June 2018
Due date: Thu 30 August 2018 Attend: Tue 4 September 2018
Due date: Sun 2 December 2018 Attend: Fri 7 December 2018
Attend: Thu 14 February 2019
(i.e. 14 days before visa expires)

I hate to break it to you....Despite your scientific approach, you are doing 4 (FOUR) 90 days reports yearly....
The 4th with your extension...!!
And despite all your efforts, you end up losing 14 days in a year.....28/2 2018 leads to 14/2 2019...
