Can't do this in US

Post by RCer »

I was hungry so I stopped at Burger King.

I placed a special order and it was done correctly the first time.

Come on,,,,several of us are on tenterhooks waiting to hear what "special order"means in a fast food restaurant like BK??
No pickles, bun only toasted for 30 seconds,,,,,,,,,,or did you then go share it with the immigration officer 30 minutes later and he was impressed??
Seriously, what was special, and what was done correctly please?

No tomato, no ketchup, no mayo, no sauce, no pickle, add cheese and bacon. Replace coke with a chocolate shake.

In the US in most burger joints they'd get at least 2 of those wrong.

I've been ordering like that for years when my mother visits. She's very picky but it's never been a problem be it McDonalds, Burger King etc.

I've had special orders done correctly, and special orders messed up in Burger Kind and McDonalds stores in both England and Thailand alike.

I'm not sure something being done as asked, on a single occasion, really warrants much of a celebration.

I remember my mother asking for a cheeseburger in McDonalds and asked for 'no extras'. When we got back to the table, she found she had a burger bun with a single slice of cheese in it. It was put right but funny at the time.

'Lost in translation!'

Ah but, it's not a single occasion. It's every time over the past 3 years. Which is about 12 times.

In the US it would be wrong 9 of the 12 times and we speak the same language.
