Re: Bad driving
When in the UK, I do a lot of mileage (especially on the motorways) - it's incredible some of the "driving" you see. That said, I was in Madrid last week at it's "Dodgems" there......dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 2:44 pm Just a reminder for those horrified by driving standards in Thailand that bad driving is not exclusive to Thailand...

Re: Bad driving
I spent a week in Italy recently. I had a preconception that the traffic would be wildly erratic and very 'me first' I was amazed at how well disciplined it was. On the motorways the speed limit seemed to being obeyed. There were cops on m'bikes everywhere and they looked like real take no crap cops, as opposed to here. Pedestrian crossings were well respected and the traffic flow in the cities was smooth and easy.
Re: Bad driving
These were seen on 'Car Crash Britain' which ran for several weeks on BBC (I think). The difference being that each instance features a (single) rogue driver. When you look around, the rest of the traffic appears to be following the rules.dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 2:44 pm Just a reminder for those horrified by driving standards in Thailand that bad driving is not exclusive to Thailand...

In Thailand, and almost at any given time, you will see several cases of bad driving on major roads happening at the same time! Also in the UK, when a driver is caught, he doesn't get a 'slap on the wrist'. Large fines, driving bans and sometimes jail time or 'community service'.

In some countries, the fine is only the beginning. Get a speeding tickets and your Insurance rate can double for about 5 years.
