Hyatt Regency

Post by Roppongi »

I returned to HH in October for the first time in 15 years and apart from the staff at the Smor Village had an excellent trip.

It wasn't a great time for swimming then due to the floods and thousands of dead fish washed up along the shore so we walked along the beach up to the Hilton.

Dropped in at all the top hotels and was very impressed with the Hyatt Regency. Though I have to admit the Sofitel had fantastic home made chicken pies. (Lev why do you rate the Sofitel above the Hyatt?)

Will be returning in late February and hope to stay at the Hyatt. Anyone know of any special rates?

Hi, welcome to the board.
I dont really rate the Sofitel above the Hyatt its just well known to be one of the best hotels in town. To be honest I havent been in the Hyatt yet so wouldnt know how good it is. Anantara is a nice place but a bit out of town.

Hi and welcome to the board!
The weather in November should be good, its the end of the rainy season. The Hyatt is 3km South of town so you cant walk there, Songtaews (local transport) run frequently to town for 10 baht. And I'm sure the Hotel has transport.

Hyatt Regency -- any deals?

Post by Roppongi »

Will visit Hua Hin again in mid to late May and want to stay at the Hyatt Regency. Anyone know of any deals?

Can you book the train online yet or do you still have to head down to the station? Last year we got one of the last tickets in 2nd class so want to plan ahead this time. Any travel agents deal with this online?

Lev, you seem to be a one man show. It would be great if you could attract more members here to contribute. Thanks

AFAIK you cant book trains online here, we're a little behind the times down here. Best to just rockup and get on (you'll have to reserve though if coming at songkran).

I know what you mean regarding contributions, we have enough members, just a small percentage of them post regularly though!
