Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
One bonus of having things made to measure. A few years ago I lost a lot of weight.I took my clothes back and for a very reasonable price, they took them to pieces and re worked them to fit again.

I went to Mike tailor shop next to Blueport.
It is a ripoff place.
Had to pay 14 000 Bht for a jacket average quality.
Never again

I had a suit made there really good quality for the same price of your jacket
As I have said before you can get cheaper elsewhere but the price is ultimately reflected in standards
Over the years I have had 6 suits made in 4 different places and Mikes is the best

Absolutely agree with ahandpatsy! I had two suits/8 shirts made at Mikes and the wife a dress and couple of skirts. Really happy with the quality and art of tailoring.ahandpatsy wrote:hmmm sounds oddMarc1 wrote:I went to Mike tailor shop next to Blueport.

@Marc1 If you're not happy with the quality go back and talk to them....
Cheers,
B.

Re: Best Hua Hun tailors?
In that case I perhaps looked into the wrong shops in HH?...the shop bang in front of the clock tower just next the entrance to the night market (forgot the name) was a real mafia ripoff. They were agressive, quoting 200B more then the others and when I refused and left, another guy outside the shop started making remarks such as "go back home if you cannot pay etc etc". ....I finally made my set of shirts at Louis Tailors, Sukhumvit, Bangkok...the quality, fitting and price was unbeatable. (around 1300B in HH/shirt against 900B/shirt in BKK). Obviously one cannot generalise, but it does seem that HH shops tend to ripoff pharangs a bit more then BKK where competition in higher.Nothappyjan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:37 pm They are all pretty good and much cheaper than Bangkok. Don't get sucked in by a deal that seems to be too good to be true. These deals involve the cheapest and thinnest cloth.
You get what you pay for.
I have had many quality suits made by Savino in Dechanuchit Rd, a Nepalese guy who gives good value service.

Photobucket axed my previous picture of the shop mentioned on soi 80 and I never actually made it there.
Is this the one? Photo taken January, 2017. Looks like the name is Pornpen Tailor

This is the one I've used for the past five years. Great people and great quality work. They don't speak much English but it's not been a problem for me.

Yeah, Mike Tailors is quite popular. My buddy got his suit from them. Might be using them too come March for an event.

Bumping this thread. Any recent experiences with tailors for a couple suits? Mike's? Pornpen's?
Thanks

Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
Hi,
I'm looking top get a suit in the next week or so. I've visited four or five shops in HH in the past week. The prices are between 4,000 and 7,000 for a two piece.
The problem I'm having is that the fabric is all man made. The fabric may say wool or cashmere along the edge, but if you look at the fabric closely, in the sun it glistens (plastic) and if you set the fabric alight it burns, well like plastic!
Has anyone got a good source of natural suit fabric?
