The i-things - Apple devices and software thread

Anyone know a place in Hua Hin were I can get a MacBook Pro battery changed?
I have previously had replacement batteries for my iPad and iPhone on the 3rd floor of Market Village, but choose carefully because the quality can vary considerably. Assuming of course that they do replacement batteries for a MacBook Pro?

I’m looking to buy a new iPad. Probably the iPad Pro - everywhere I look it seems to be exactly the same price which I suspect is an Apple stipulation. Has anyone achieved any discount in Hua Hin for such an item?

20,300+ baht and you can't even charge it or listen to music or does it charge without a power adapter and play directly into your brain?

You can obviously buy a power adaptor and EarPods, but they will be an extra charge - nearly 1000 Baht for the power supply and a lot more for EarPods, especially if they’re Bluetooth

Doesn't every other manufacturer include a power adapter?
Apple are greedy bastards.
Are their phones really that much better than everyone elses?

I’m sure it’s not a case of necessarily being better - it’s a subjective thing, similar to those that like to say they have the latest BMW, Mercedes etc - beauty and functionality lies in the eyes of the beholder!!

I’m not promoting Apple, simply stating the obvious!!

Apple is the best marketing company in the world. The fact that people queue up to buy a vastly overpriced device that you have to pay extra to get a charger for says it all.

Would you buy a BMW, Mercedes, etc. if they said the alternator was extra?

[Edit] Being thick about anything car, I had to look it up to make sure my question was right:
Your BMW's alternator is a crucial element that helps to provide various systems and components with power.

Well the answer to your question is yes, if I was hell bent on having the latest BMW and the alternator was an “extra” I’d buy it. Of course it depends on what you identify as being important and Apple know fully well that the majority of their phone purchasers will buy the latest phone, whether or not a charger is included or an extra. Whether it’s right or not is another question - it’s not my policy so don’t blame me!!

Not blaming anybody but Apple. I just think it's incredible selling such an expensive piece of kit without the means to power it up.

Yes, I think it's shortsighted. Those who have bought Apple historically have a house full of power adaptors from previous devices that they can use. They need new buyers though and this is not the way to attract them. :banghead:

Edit: These phones also charge wirelessly if placed on a charging pad, and via normal USB hooked to your computer or similar.

Only apple things I ever buy are the ipads as they are a superior piece of kit to anything else available, but apple phones... Nah, forget it.

In the middle of that article is a headline that says, "Serious new problems for apple users."
Is there an extra charge for those?
