Ten Pin Bowling

Post by tuktukmike »

I am hoping we can start a league for us all in hua hin.

I am sure with the property companys/bars/and all the rest this can be done.

I of course need to buy a new Bowling Ball, if i cant find one i was open to ideas to get round this problem.

One of the best ideas i think are.

Use JW/or Soul Monstas head as a replacement, there is ample finger grip by the nostrils.

Also both are very highly polished which should ensure the lowest drag factor one can achive.

Any other ideas will be gladly accepted.

Sounds like a good idea, TTM.
I've only ever played once, somewhere in London, but I remember it was a good laugh.

Have been called much worse than a bowling ball. sure the monsta has also. Might be fun to have a bit of a league or a monthly competition.

Brunswick Bowling opens tomorrow. I'll avoid the weekend, though, as there'll probably be about 1 million people there. Anybody for a game next week?

Sounds like a very good idea, ten pin bowling, meet people and have a few drinks, could prove to be quite popular, I would have thought.

Has anyone tried the new ten pin bowling venue yet, I have heard new places tend to have a few teething problems, getting all the equipment to work properly, but then again, that may be days gone by, because it is years since we have played, in fact probably about 1984, when we were stationed in Germany, but thats another story.

But as I have said, it sounds like a good way of meeting people and making new friends. Looking forward to the first game. Although that will be five months away, but we are counting down the days.

Good idea reference the league JW.

Bowling league

Post by HuaHinSportsClub »

It is the intention of the Hua Hin Sports Club to start a ten pin bowling league.

The idea is to get people to form teams of four. Play a pre-determined number of frames in a season and the accumulative scores will be put into a league table.

The idea is that a sponsor is identified (I think we have a few options already) to provide the trophies. Results and league tables canl be published in the Observer subject to agreement with the management.

A small team entry fee could be charged at the begining of the season to pay for a end of season presentaion and maybe a top players individual tournament held at the bowling alley.

We already have all the necessary mechanisms for recording of scores and maintenance of the league tables.

Any ideas would be welcome.
Fun and games with a charitable attitude.

Went to have a quick look yesterday. The place is rather small, only 8 lanes so I think advance booking will be necessary if we go with a bigger group.

Agree to that Martin.
For a small symbolic fee I could even work as their coacher!!

I asked about booking - they didn't seem too keen on the idea as it is busy all the time. 'Just come and wait' they said.

Really dissapointed.

I thought it was going to be the same as the one in Pattaya (central rd)

If it only has 8 lanes then i think i will give it a miss as you are always going to be waiting.
