I don't think I've ever seen three-figure Mbps internet speeds, even in Hua Hin.
Just done à speed check and i am with TOT and 20km north of Hua Hin

This was for Buksi's benefit who had never seen 3 figure speeds. He's now been educated!!

That is a phenomenal difference - are you sure you're using TOT cable and not 5G or something?

DB and I are on prehistoric speeds while you guys are getting stuff 5,000% faster.

Also, you're testing to a local server in Bangkok - which of course will give you the fastest response on Thai internet (intranet). For accuracy, I always test to servers in the U.S. (where most cloud hosting servers are) - and it is always shite.

No 5G
My husband goes to TOT about once a year and asks for an upgrade for better speed which we get at no extra costs and they come and change the box, also no extra cost
When we have a problem (which is rare) we phone them up and it is sorted within a couple of hours, it's usually a broken cable

Overnight my TOT bandwidth tanked. Anyone in Hua Hin/Cha Am noticed the same?

I'm in Korat. I've attached the bandwidth results from the last two days. The lines are

For comparison, I've also attached the results from my condo in Cha Am with CAT as the ISP

Thanks. Just what I needed to know. Seems to be a local rather than TOT-wide problem.

TOT Internet Down

Post by Gregjam »

At around 2130 I lost my TOT internet connection. Rebooted the modem to no avail. Have reverted to AIS phone connection and wondering if anyone else has this problem. I live near the Nong Khon intersection on the Pala U road.
It stopped raining a while ago and I was surprised it had not failed earlier, hoping that we were safe.
Not sure if there is a thread for recording loss of supply but if all were on one place it would give an indication of which provider is more reliable. Generally TOT are okay so this is a surprise.

Yes, my regular AIS connection has gone, so I've switched to 5G.

Oh me of little faith. Ten minutes later and it is back. Strange time for a system crash but it seems to have recovered. Perhaps a big load on the system to watch the F1 on various vpn services.
