Thanks, Chromeman, for revealing all, certainly something I wasn't aware of.
I have seen them but simply chose to ignore them...
Yes, thanks from me too.
I'm aware of threads with unread posts when I log on, but anything else just blurs into the background...

(EDIT: ... and will undoubtedly continue to do so! )

Just because I am not as informed as most of you and am new to this fourm
There is no need to take the piss out of wanting to know how the fourm works
You were all new here at one time so maybe you think about taking a little more time to give the guys some help

Calm down... :D

Most is just general forum banter. No harm intended. From your thread, I think we've all learnt something new.

Kymer

Don't worry about the odd cynical or sarcastic post. ALL forums have those types of members. Keep asking. I for one learnt a lot from the answers to your questions and I've been on here for over 11 years. I keep learning the odd new thing as other posters stumble across them and ask for solutions so keep 'em coming mate

Khmer, please don't take it personally. Most of us (me anyway) did not know what the symbols were
We all know the "chillies"... .even Big Boy thought you were talking about the chillies
I welcomed you... :)
With the forum, you have to take things with a "pinch of salt"....keep cool.

WE look forward (I do anyway) to your topics and questions :)

And for information Khmer, the terms 'professional', 'rock star' and 'guru' are not user names. They denote the users rank by how many posts they have made. If you look at yours, you will see under your name, the word, 'amateur', that will change as you make more posts and who knows, you might even become a rock star!

Putting icons to one side, I personally like the new idea of splashing a forum banner across a post that has some freeloader trying to engineer some self promotion and free advertising.
We have also joined Facebook so should increase forum traffic i would like to know if this is the case.
