Best Instant Coffee available in Hua Hin

Post by musungu »

I am not a great coffee fan but it would be nice to find a very good instant coffee brand in Hua Hin - anybody with a good recommendation and supplier please?
I appreciate it does not compare to 'real' coffee but when I google this question the best names I have never seen.

Fairly certain you can get Nescafé Gold at Villa Market, which is one of the best instants (IMO)!!

Forget the instant, get yourself a french press and a kettle. It's fast, easy, and makes a great cup o' joe.

I consider myself a true coffee lover and drink only Boncafe instant Coffee. It is much better than any other brand I have tried, quite as goog as Lavazza and Segafredo.

Boncafe has a shop in HH, off the 94th.

Wherever I go, I'll bring my Boncafe Instant with me. I'll always be sure to have have a splendid cuppa just the way I like it.

My instant coffee preference is Moccona Gold. IMO better than Nescafe Gold. Has a very smooth taste. Available in all major supermarkets.

That sounds very interesting Farang, so from Phetkasem Rd I go up Soi 94 over the railway line and how far further before I turn left?

You have to make the jog at the junction of 94 and 88 extension, which now has a detour due to construction on west 94. Then go about 200 meters past the big Oy's restaurant, turn left, then the next right and BonCafe is on your left about 100 meters further.

In the US we call coffees such as Moccona Gold 'freezed dried', the method used to produce them. This distinguishes them from the cheaper and inferior tasting 'instant'. Both are ready to drink after pouring on boiling water, but there is a big difference in taste - which means the phrase 'best instant coffee' is rarely used.

Almost forgot. I drink Moconna Gold when need be.

Segafredo is not a coffee it is a coffee shop franchise.

It's "freeze dried" but otherwise you are quite right. Moccona is No. One.

From the railway to Boncafe along the 94th is 1.4 km = 16 minutes walk.

Yes, quite. Segafredo is not a coffee much like Burger King is not a hamburger. Thanks for the very relevant correction.

If we want to keep this going and expand it into a critique of whole bean brands, I find Starbucks Italian Roast beans hard to beat. It makes a strong cup though, stronger than their Espresso blend IMO. It's expensive, you're paying for the name. Pete

Segafredo: what I meant was that Segafredo to not grow and blend their own coffee they purchase ready made from Brazil as such their blend can change at any time unlike some other companies who actually grow, roast and blend their own.

Starbucks is just a bucket of sugar with some taste added ion my opinion
