hospitals, doctors

Post by whittler »

My insurance covers hospitals in BK, Pattaya, Rayong. How long would
it take to go to BKK, if I needed to go to the hospital, or Doctor ?

I suppose you think from Hua Hin.
It takes about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to Bangkok by car.
(Will of course depend on the traffic situation).

Hey, they even have electricity in Hua Hin :D Not sure about Cha Am though

Seriously, there are a few - look here http://www.expathuahin.com/health-huahin.php to start.

One thing confuses me whittler, if you know you're going to Hua Hin/Cha Am, why have bought insurance that does not include those areas. If you need to travel to Bangkok for something serious, you'll probably be dead by Petchaburi. Seems like false economy to me.

Plasters are also available from the local witchdoctor for the princely sum of a small-medium Goat.

BigBoy, you know everybody in Cha Am retreats to their huts when the Fireball weighs heavy in the sky.

Hi Big Boy, my insurance is paid for by my retirement fund. In case of emergency I can go to any hospital. Thanks for the help.

Didn't know Red Cross had a hospital. I thought that was just a blood donation and processing center....been there for that.

Anyone know any more about the hospital Sarge mentioned that is up a Soi on the left coming into Hua Hin from Cha-Am? Name? Location? Quality and types of service? Price as compared to San Paulo or the clinics?

Thanks

Heading north to Cha Am, the Hua Hin Hospital will be on your left hand side, ca. 4 km from Damnoern Kasem, just between TOT and Hua Hin Commercial College.

Here is a map :
