Yes very cheap, but did you check the reason ? Expiration date less than a week.
I am sure that I did not give my packet of cheese to you, so how do you know the expiration date?
It fact it reads: Packed: 24-07-19, Best before: 19-04-20, Aged up to 24 months.
After reading so many messages about this shop named AP, I stopped for looking at this famous cheap cheese and in fact 169 Baht for 500 gr. As I checked the expiration date I read Best before 9 Dec 19. The salesman confirmed that this is the reason they sell it so cheap.
So good for another 6 months or so! Where's the problem?
As I checked the expiration date I read Best before 9 Dec 19.
You've just said it yourself. You checked for an expiration date and found a Best Before date.
Expiration dates tell consumers the last day a product is safe to consume. Best before date on the other hand tells you that the food is no longer in its perfect shape from that date. It may just lose its freshness, taste, aroma or nutrients. It does not necessarily mean that the food is no longer safe to eat.

Well just to clarify for 'the confused':

Ha..ha.. so best before 19 Dec. 2019 as written in the cheese sold at AP at a very cheap prize is not in perfect shape.
Usually Best before is mentioned on food and expiration date is on medics and.....

I use the original Baguette quite regularly - I didn't even know they sold cheese. Or is it only the one near Makro?
I don't know but there's a cooler on the right, in the first room, at the back and they may keep it there. There's also small containers of garlic butter in the fridge.
I was in the original Baguette shop yesterday and the cheese and other delicatessen products are in an upright fridge that looks like a drink fridge near where the coffee machine is at the rear of the shop.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Stopped in at AP Interfoods today for a new chunk of one of my favorites- Nantwich Cheese Co.'s Cheddar & Chives. The pack I chose was 362 grams & priced at 199 baht. When I got to the cashier, he informed me that it was 50% off and so I paid 100 baht. Great cheese. Great price. Good day.
I experienced AP interfood. Yes great price but shit cheese. By cutting its falling apart. I think it's a problem of preservation. Better pay more and have a great cheese.
Most cheeses, especially hard cheeses become 'crumbly' after freezing. That's probably what's happened here. Freezing hard cheeses will change the texture but not necessarily, the taste.

If you don't care how it's looks like and like to eat your cheese with a spoon, up to you.
The difference between a mild cheese and a mature one.
Fresh cheese contains lots of water so it's soft and delicate. As it matures into cheddar, the water evaporates and the cheese becomes firmer. ... Mature cheddar is crumbly because it's drier, but also because it doesn't have as much casein reinforcement.
I prefer Vintage/Mature cheddar and I expect it to crumble.
You need to learn a little about how cheese is made, especially the more mature ones.
