I know everybody has their own reasons for wanting a nanny but unless both parents are working fulltime, do you really need one? Afterall, part of the joy of having kids is the taking care of them and by doing it all yourselves, you get to mould the kid in a way you see fit rather than the way a nanny may see fit. Yes of course its hard work but the rewards are worth it. We have tw little ones, one year old and three years old and we have managed just fine without any help. Anyway, just a thought for you to ponder on.

Hasn't the missus got a family?

They are usually the first to muscle in

It's almost mandatory in Isaan

Only if the price is right, and accomodation is provided.

True BB

AND of course food and drink

AND no more than 2% of the family (that would still be excessive for my wifes family)

Suppose if there is more than one you could get the other out to work to pay his/har way. Maybe not. Know someone who tried it and ended up with 6 family and no cleaning up and no working to earn a crust or roof over their heads. Wife would lose face if she put her foot down :D
