Banyan Rebranding
Banyan Rebranding
Seems Banyan is rebranding as Pineapple Valley.
It seems a strange decision to me, but there must be a reason and its probably financial.
Anyone know why?

Re: Banyan Rebranding
This is fairly recent and no mention of pineapples, just the ditching of Tree from their name

Re: Banyan Rebranding
I remember the last time I drove past, seeing a different name referenced and thinking it must be a new development or hotel going up. Can't remember the name though. Maybe they have sold it off?

Re: Banyan Rebranding
I've heard an advert on the radio saying homes at Banyan have been re-named also.

Heard they are legally required to change.
Re: Banyan Rebranding
As with many things, they can call it whatever they want, but we'll still call it Banyan for years to come

Read on their website:
Banyan Hua Hin, the healthy active lifestyle community nestled along Thailand's gulf coast, announces a rebranding initiative to redefine its distinctive project components.
As of January 1, 2024, Banyan Residences Villas will continue under the name BelVida Estates Hua Hin.
Banyan Village, the long-term rental village, will continue under the name Terra Villa Village Hua Hin
Banyan Privilege Club will continue under the name BelVida Privilege Club.
Furthermore, within the first quarter of 2024, near the end of the peak season, Banyan Golf Club will be rebranded. The name will be revealed in early 2024.
The new name 'BelVida' is an adaptation from the Italian word 'belvita', which means 'the good life'. 'Estates' stands for the privacy and luxury that homeowners enjoy. The BelVida Estates logo takes the memorable font and design from the Banyan Residences Villas logo.
Similarly, 'Terra' in Terra Villa pays homage to the earthy hues of the village's distinctive roofs, a name echoed in the refreshed logo, embracing the unique architectural elements.

Re: Banyan Rebranding
This link is about The Banyan Tree resorts, who run luxury retreats throughout the world.
This is the reason Banyan here in Thailand are changing the names of the housing and golf course.
My understanding is they have had legal action from The Banyan Tree group.

Re: Banyan Rebranding
So the Hua Hin Banyan was never a part of the all conquerinng Banyan group? Is that what yoy are saying? As they wouldn't be taking legal actions against themselves.

Re: Banyan Rebranding
As I understand, it never was. They just used the name 'Banyan' and it's taken until now for the Banyan Tree organisation to decide to take legal action against them.

A bit silly IMHO - just like Johnny Walker Bar a few years back.

Re: Banyan Rebranding
Personally, I think any organisation using such a blatantly contrived name, leading many to believe they are something they are not, simply ain't to be trusted. I am sure I am not the only one here to have stayed at a real Banyon Tree resort, and I always assumed the Hua Hin site was part of the the real international company, who have many outlets throughout Thailand. If it is true that they never had anything to do eith them, I wonder why they let it go for so long?
