Thanks for the offer - I have to admit that I’ve never heard of this, but then I’m not really into much of this, other than the vpn concept which is widely publicised. Let me try to do some research and I’ll get back.

Just saw this article so I thought I’d post it together with a brief update of my recent experience using Nord.

Basically, I’d say that Nord has been a bit more stable than my experience using Express VPN - that doesn’t mean it’s been totally faultless but the worst I’ve experienced is having to switch from London to Manchester for servers. During use, one thing I’ve noticed that is much better with Nord, is the ability to hit the fast forward button on a programme and usually there is no pause in play - using Express it would often buffer.

Unless there’s a dramatic change over the next 2 weeks, I’ll be staying with Nord and not renewing Express!!

Just an update on Express. They seem to have sorted their problems for now - actually been perfect for well over a week now. I will most likely give Nord a trial nearer renewal time on cost grounds alone. The immediate problem has gone away.

I’d certainly recommend giving Nord a trial as you can always cancel within 30 days, but overall I’m finding it better than Express and at roughly half the price. So far it has been at least as stable, if not better than Express, and what I find particularly useful is the ability to hit the 10/20 sec fast forward button that most channels offer, without it buffering.

Yes, I will definitely trial Nord, but there's no urgency while Express is paid for and working. I'd be stupid to pay twice as much, if Nord will do the exact same job.

I just discovered that if you have a storage subscription with Google you will also have access to VPN by google ONE. https://support.google.com/googleone/an ... %3DAndroid

I do not have a storage subscription, but maybe some one on here does? If so have anyone tried this VPN to see if it is working good?

Two comments regarding VPN’s - first is that I’m still very satisfied with the Nord system - no major issues at all and speed wise it seems to be much better that I was experiencing with Express, although that also coincides with a new internet connection so could be a bit of both? Interestingly I’ve just received an invitation from Express to renew with them at a 35% discount, but that still makes them double the cost of Nord!!

I'm still watching with interest, and will most certainly swap at renewal time.

Incidentally, I haven't had a single issue since Express sorted themselves out when we were discussing before, but I don't see any point in paying double for the same level of service,

Most of the “independent” reviews on VPN service providers, tend to have Express or Nord as best, so there probably isn’t much between either, other than cost!!

Is anybody else having problems with NordVPN recently? I'm finding it no longer works with BBC iPlayer or ITVX on my Amazon Firestick 4K - although Channel 4, My5 and UKTV play still work. BBC iPlayer doesn't work on my Android TV OS devices either (can't use ITVX on those).

It's also still OK on my Android tablet and on my Windows PC.

Also, is anyone using SurfShark and if so, how is it going? For me, it was still working when I let the subscription lapse because I'd already subscribed to NordVPN and at that time, Nord was still OK.

Now that NordVPN has become "iffy" for me, I'm thinking of switching back to SurfShark but I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any recent experience with it.

I’m using Nord via a laptop connected to my TV and normally I use Firefox. Most of the time it’s faultless although occasionally (like last night) I had to change between London and Manchester to get it working. I’m 20 odd minutes into watching Silent Witness on iPlayer and so far it’s been fine
